Hey everyone! This thread worked out really well in the b7 a4 section, thought I'd try it out since I've had so many of these questions myself. Also helps keep down the clutter of useless threads being started.

Here's the first question.

Is it normal for the mmi splash screen to have a "ghost" R in front of the S4?

Im guessing from your sig you have a B8 S4. I know my B8.5 doesn't say that. It just has S4 and its a little different. Ill have to look at it later today to confirm.

I have a 2012 S4 6MT and I can't figure out what the 4th pedal on the far left does. It has absolutely no movement when I press it. I'm stumped!

I had some vag com mods done at my local shop now I have a hidden menu avalible on my MMI can I make any changes with that menu without hooking my car up to a computer ?

I asked these questions as well! My B8 has no volume indication as well. My mmi haa never been updated since it's 2011 file, so not sure if that was addressed in an update or not.

The seat heaters/ac is a weird glitch that can't be fixed that i know. Most annoying thing on this car.

This is kind of annoying. Although, I've found if you turn on the seat heaters and then turn off the HVAC, the seat heaters will stay on. So you can kind of get around it. But if you need to change the heat level, of course the HVAC comes on again.

Yeah, but then turning the seat heater off at that point then turns the HVAC back on again. Lol. So dumb.

Yup. Just touching that button turns it all on. Dumb indeed. I leave my A/C off most of the time though so it's not that big a deal. But it's still an extra step. I liked the rolley wheel on my B7 better.

My seat heaters are the only thing that comes on when I use them. I hope that doesn't mysteriously change in the future.

Same here. My seat heaters work completely independently of my HVAC. I think it's safe to say that this was a change made on our B8.5s.

1. Mine doesn't exhibit this behavior. Maybe this was "corrected" in B8.5's?

2. I ask myself this all the time.

4. Idk about the MMI 3G's but the MMI 3G's can. I use it on a daily basis. No aptX or Kleer though.

5. My arm rest is height adjustable. Again, I guess this was something that was added on to B8.5's?

My questions:

1. Why do the cornering lights only function in AUTO mode? In my old W211 E500 4Matic, I couldn't activate either the front or rear fogs if they were in AUTO which I never understood as well.

2. Why can't we have the RS4/RS6 state side?

I had my car for a month and thought my trunk was broken because it wouldn't open with the interior button even when the car was unlocked, I just always used the button on the key fob. Found out you can enable/disable the button in the MMI. I'm not a smart man.

Was playing around with vagom yesterday and you can actually change that splash screen to the RS one if you like, may have something to do with it.
