    09 Audi A4 2.0t 96k miles

Pulled into gas station to get some stuff when I came out I have a car that won't start. Towed it home. No symptoms leading up. Car will begin as usual when I push ignition Rpm goes to 200rpm and car cranks but never turns over. I just changed spark plugs, checked all fuses. I can hear fuel pump priming and smell gasoline out of exhaust. I looked at 100x threads and was hoping someone else had hands on insight.

    Thanks
    Josh

Sounds like it's time for a new battery.

N80 valves can cause issues like this but usually they will start but run really rough. Its possible after topping off gas if the n80 is stuck open it creates an overly rich condition that may not start. in the photo if you can remove the hose just above the green connector and plug it with a screwdriver. That will seal off the intake from the gas fumes. You will get an evap error code from this. This picture is taken just behind the throttle body.

Car was towed to Audi yesterday. They said a piston dropped and engine needs replaced. There's no other fix. I questioned them because they said it no longer cranks. They said there was a lose timing chain tensioner and from cranking so many times piston fell. Sounds like bs to me???? They said they're unable to turn motor forward manually and used bore scope. Any thoughts before this one bites the dust???

By the way my car went through all phases of oil consumption including the rebuild. During rebuild they also cracked my turbo. Any way this might have to do with the rebuild???

    Nice

Not long after having phase II consumption done last year, my car developed a no start condition. Battery was replaced, starter was changed. It seemed as if the problem was never going to be solved.

After a couple days troubleshooting, they finally ended up replacing my main engine wiring harness. I suspect it may have been pinched during phase II, which lead to high resistance readings in an area of the harness.

my car was towed to the Audi dealership as well because it wont start. i had a "crankshaft position camshaft position correlation Bank 1 sensor A" error code and "cylinder 3 misfire detected" code. they want to charge me $1,300 just to take apart my engine to see why the car wont start. does this sound right? thanks

Look up P0016, that is the code for crank/camshaft correlation. You have likely lost timing chain tension and had the chain skip teeth. Very likely you have bent valves due to valve to piston contact. its very likely that after they open the block up a new head, timing chain, and tensioner. If you are in this deep and haven't had the pistons changed to the newer version it might as well be done too. I would have it towed to an independent mechanic and look for a lightly used long block from a 2012 or newer. The $20 to $50 an hour shop labor fee difference here can make a big difference when you are looking at 20 hours of work or more. If you are really lucky then only the timing has jumped and a new chain and tensioner can be fitted. Even this will run around $1000.
