I have the same hitch https://torkliftcentral.com/2009-201...-ecohitch?p=12 j and you don't have to trim anything.

I had it installed because you have to drop exhaust/bracket and I didn't have access to a lift. I haul my dirt bike trailer (approx 500lbs) and a bike
carrier. I didn't buy the wiring harness, I just run lights off the rear power outlet. I live in GA, a little redneck work around.

I have a BNIB Westfalia hitch that I never installed, it requires cutting the lower valence on the B8.5 allroad but its fully out of sight when not in use and is integrated into the OEM harness so the lights and turn signals function in concert with the vehicles lighting systems.

I'll be posting it for sale in the classifieds soon.

Here's a vid that shows how it functions, not an allroad videos but the system is the same:

I agree, but I would buy this one before any of the Euro hitches. https://stealthhitches.com/products/...road-2009-2015
The Euro hitch ball is 50mm which is slightly smaller than 2" and can have issues with being loose in some hitch couplers. Also there is no option to ever use a Euro hitch for a bike rack or cargo carrier since they don't have a square receiver adapter.

Put it on early last fall and it has been on since then. I'm probably going to remove it once I consider ski season to be over. it kills my MPGs and I use the sunroof a lot when the weather is nice. My Aeroblade Edge bars don't allow full sunroof use unless I modify them.

Nope. I only put mine on when I need it. Rigged a hoist in the garage ceiling to make installing and removing it a piece of cake. That being said, sometimes I put it on a few days early and leave it on for an extra week or so because I like the way it looks. :)

The need for a hitch cargo carrier or bike carrier doesn't matter as much as I have the roof related accessories for both. However I swear when I looked into these guys last year they didn't have anything for b8.5 wagons and were focused more on the b9 platform - so this is great news. Thanks for this!

I use mine more during the winter so mine usually comes off late spring and if I need it I put it on as I leave my bars on. It goes back on come fall at some point.
