Sline suspension first then an oem audi 20" wheel. We'll see what happens after.

Other extras would be a clear bra asap and a roof rack with a basket

    Old vs. New

I really hate the front plate so I put in a european plate I had from the cc. I want to find a grill win no plates..

Can I buy this grill and just use the covers to cover up where the plate goes?

    http://europrice.us/grille-allroad-p...t-plate-delete

Its a new car, I really don't need to replace the whole grill assembly. If only there was a way to buy those covers.

We all hate the front plate and wish you could buy just the covers.

Unfortunately there is more to the license plate mount than what is covered by those holes.

But thanks for bringing this up. I'll add it (and this thread) to the B8.5 allroad megathread.

    Thanks man.

Is it an easy swap? does the whole bumper have to be removed?

The allroad bumper is a little bit different since it's in 3 pieces (as opposed to one big piece like the A4/S4). Your best bet is to remove the lower bumper, then the two upper pieces (below the headlights). It's not too bad, just tedious. I used a B8 S4 DIY to remove my bumper, but now I realize I should have taken photos for the allroad-specific bits. Maybe I'll do it again so I can take pics (if nobody else beats me to it).

    Thank for that info!

I am about to receive Avant Sline suspension, to get a proper alignment would I need adjustable control arms?

Do allroad and avants(s line or not) have the same stock control arms?

You would not necessarily need adjustable control arms with an S-line suspension. I'm only adding them to dial in some camber to reduce rubbing. You will be fine on an S-line suspension. I believe all B8 cars use the same control arms.

Hah, thanks. It's being tinted today so will look a bit different, but I'm done after that.

The car came tinted except the front windows, getting that done this weekend then next weekend getting clear bra put on.

The sline suspension arrives today but I wont put them on until I choose and purchase wheels.

Suspension has arrived, waiting to get it installed.

Got the front windows tinted to match the rest of the windows.

Clear bra install tomorrow, already got 1 rock chip... so disappointing.

Need to hard wire the radar detector, I hate having that cord running from the cig lighter. Any tips on an easy way to tap into a power source?

Wheels should be ordered soon and will get the suspension installed when that time comes.

Weathertech mats came in, love them.

Things I noticed after about a week of owning it:
    - gas mileage is ok but not great, I have had 2.0t's since 2005, 6 total. Not what I am used to but I understand its heavier and AWD.
Smaller tank then the passats and cc I have had, closer to a GTI tank
    - wtf is up with brake dust? how long do these pads last and are there better pads to replace them after?
    - I got a rock chip sooner then I thought, getting clear bra put in tomorrow
    - Transmission seems sluggish, I have had 2 DSG, 2 auto and 2 manual VW.
    - over all its been great, like is said all i have had since 2005 were VW's. This definitely feels more refined.

The tranny is a bit on the slow side. Especially off the line, then from 1-2nd. Seems to improve from there.

    Congrats on the buy :).

Dumb question but how do you get to that?

My VW's had an separate S selection unless I completely missed it on the allroad lol

Do you go to the tiptronic/manual mode but don't select a gear?

Shift to drive, then tap it back one more to "S." It'll spring back to "D," but you'll see the S pop up on your instrument cluster where it used to say D.

Yep. You just pull it back to switch from Drive to Sport. You don't have to push the button in. You'll see what I mean.

Picked up a set of these:

    20x9 et35 - the real ones are et26 i believe

I will see how they fit and space them out accordingly

    Putting 255 35 20 Continental ExtremeContact DW

These wheels and the S Line suspension should be good for a couple years.

Eventually saving up for coilovers and bbs ch-r's

Those factory wheels look great with your new ride height. Are you running spacers?

The back one fits almost everything, most people don't try because it looks smaller.
