Big changes today... Replaced lower control arms with 034 density line. Replaced upper control arms with 034 adjustable density line. Went from 19x8.5 running 235/35/91Y to 18x9 running 245/40/97Y. Much lighter flow formed wheels and way comfier. Just doesn't look as good . I'm gonna throw some spacers on next weekend to get it sitting right. Went to get an alignment today but they couldn't fix my toe so I'm going to have to cut off the tie rods with a grinder and replace the inners and outers... . But on the bright side the car is a lot more comfy and can take turns like a champ now. The Conti DW's are super grippy and fun but still quiet. Really excited to drive it around next week when the tie spacers and tie rods are on and the alignment is done. Also gonna try and get it inspected and get some TX plates on since my CO rego expired in June

Missed this update! Wheels looks nice! How you liking the control arm setup...? I just replaced with the same upper, lowers 034 parts this past summer and sway bar end links inner's and outer's tie rods with a new steering rack.

Yeah I'm having some trouble with them. Personally, I think they're poorly designed compared to Stern or SPC control arms. I'm having this clicking and clacking noise when I turn at low speeds that I think is being caused by them and it's frustrating.

I did do a few more things though. I added the 034 front sway bar end links:

I put some spacers on the wheels and the car now sits a lot better and also a tad lower which I'm liking. If I come across a good spot to take a photo, I'll post one up

And I also replaced my 1 yr old Meyle PCV with a new OEM PCV because it failed and was making a horrible loud whining sound. I took apart the old one and found that not only was the main diaphragm misaligned a bit, but the secondary, orange diaphragm was completely out of place. These are the pics and yes, I actually found the orange diaphragm that far off the center mounting spot for it.

I'd like to set up a catch can system in the near future to prolong the life of my PCV but it all depends on the time I have. Not sure yet if I want to save up for a baffled occ kit or to just spend a bit more time and make my own. Also have to quadruple check the suspension again to really make sure it's the control arms that're causing my woes before I save up and buy a set of SPC arms.

I agree I'm having the same clicking sound when at low speeds and parking. The uppers are also hitting and rubbing where they bolt into the alum knuckle area... very disappointed with them as well. I'm going to switch to the SPC or Stern arms next season.

It's a 1 peice sportec replica bumper. They're kinda hard to find but a guy on here called AvantVonDeutch makes them. Probably easier to find him on FB.

Yeah! That's exactly what's happening with mine. It's so frustrating because they're such an expensive part. I've never heard anyone complain about noises with the other arms. I really wish they would address this somehow. Maybe I should reach out to them

You two gentlemen are not the only ones experiencing this. I've talked to at least a handful of B6/7 owners and all reported same noise issue. Quite unfortunate, as I was seriously considering going 034MS route ones my Sterns need rebuild, but after such feedback... no thank you! I'll just rebuild Sterns. 034MS products are top notch, shame this one doesn't live up to the greatness of others.

Yeah, additionally, both me and a buddy of mine, Josh (evildsmr), have both had one of the bolts holding the aurora bushing to the steering knuckle back out on us completely while driving. I was lucky because it happened to me at low speed and I didn't lose any bits but Josh lost his bolt and washer that came with the arm. The things were tightened down really well too but their included bolts just might not have the right tolerance or something. Additionally, the indentation thing front the allen key used to tighten them is extremely small for the overall size of the bolt and the amount you apparently have to torque it. Just disappointing coming from 034. All their other products have been good to me though

I would def contact them and ask for a refund. This is no joke. Control arms are pretty important.

Same thing happened to me when i was on the highway and hit a bump ....... any rate I almost crashed my car. Guess they really are a shit product. I wonder if 034 will issue us a refund for us towards some stern arms? As I don't feel confident their design isn't safe even with thread locker on those allen bolts. This isn't the 1st issue I've encountered with their products considering i had to get their crappy LW flywheel machined correctly since it was egg shaped.

That is a serious issue and i would get all the guys together and send a letter to 034.

To be honest i need to check my 034 engine mounts because i feel like they might be making noise on bumps too.

Went for a little drive this afternoon. Wish it'd been a little sunnier, and that I had a camera that wasn't my cell phone. Anywho this is how she's been sitting with the new wheels and spacers

Thank you! Will hopefully have a quick update this weekend. Plan on throwing on some new SPC adjustable UCAs. Gotta do my brakes too one of these days.... Lot of maintenance to do but so little time

Thanks Mark! Can't wait to get back there in May. It'd be great to get all three together for a photoshoot finally!

I appreciate it man! It's a good setup for now but I hope to do a bit more in the coming years.

Here's a small update. This weekend I took my car down and replaced the 034 adjustable upper control arms with a set of SPC adjustable upper control arms I got from Rockauto for like $300. As others have said, they come in Moog boxes but have SPC branding on them.

As far as the intal goes, it went smooth. They require a touch of grinding on the strut hat for maximum clearance but it wasn't too much trouble. This is the only pic I have of them installed:

Went and got an alignment afterwards and so far, all I can say is that I'm ecstatic with them. All of my suspension click and clunk is gone now and everything is just so smooth when I turn the wheel. SO much happier now . Took the car out on a little test drive too

Now the only issue I'm having is that I have this knock sensor code popping up. No CEL but I've been scanning with vagcom and it pops up once in a while. Any ideas?

I had knock sensor error show up from time to time if i got some other fuel than shell or bp. If you have any water even slight amount then this might happen. Especially on 93 oct tune. Thats one of the reasons i switched to 91+.

And my car is being stripped down now. Cutting and what not starts around end of the week. :)
