I'm cross posting this info since it's in the B5 S4 forum and unlikely to be found by anyone in this section.

Put a FT21 1.8T turbine housing on the flow bench.

I dont get it. The other turbos were tested with the turbines attached, expect for the frankenturbo? I would imagine this could easily cause compromised data.

Yes, you are correct, not a very good comparison if you are trying to draw a conclusion. I put the BW turbo's on the chart simply because they are the only other ones I have any data for. I figured if I put the F21 data all by itself it would say even less, but the setups were quite different.

I'd be interested to see the flow rates of all of them under the same circumstances. Re test?

I'm confused. would the F21 outflow the BW K03/4 if the wheel was intalled?

I asked myself the same question, but dont know enough to reach an answer.

Obviously, the turbine gets in the way of flow, so it could make it slower.

But, the turbine (in my mind) may help facilitate flow by creating low pressure on the inlet, sucking more air in and then helping it out the outlet.

So I am not quite sure, but another trip to the flow machine would answer that question

I agree, that would be a better comparison, I tested what I was sent and I didn't have control over what came - this was not a test I initiated.

I just thought I'd post the results rather than keep them to myself.

The turbine would get in way of the flow, and initially cause a stall in flow obviously. I believe as it spins up that stall will decrease, however I cannot see anyway that the pressure would be lower with the turbine in place. The turbine can be very efficient, but it cannot be as efficient as a hole.

....Unless the exhausts gases enter at such an angle that the gases flow over the blades and are redirected outwards after hitting the blades, and when the turbine is not present the gases flow directly into the housing creating backpressure since the gases aren't being redirected out. I've never really taken chose enough look to notice how it is angled
