    2.7T S-line 2004 Stock boost?

So I've been getting mixed answers searching around. What is the stock boost on a 2004 S-line?

I have seen 7psi or 9psi after searching.

I'm wondering if mine had a tune installed by one of the four previous owners. Got a boost gauge wired up today and I'm seeing 12PSI at 3/4 throttle, peaks around 14-15psi at full throttle and 4500RPM...

Is that too high to be stock? I have no way to reach the previous owner to ask.

A stock 250hp 2.7T will spike at 10psi and settle down to 7-8.

I know yours is the S-Line and rated 15hp higher, but I say it's definitely tuned.

That's what I'm thinking as well. I wonder if there is any way to find out for sure.

Does Vagcom log boost? If it does, I can try to log it and compare my boost behavior to yours. I have a '04 S-Line 2.7T as well.

You can log boost with VAG COM.

I would guess it has an APR tune on it. I had a B5S4 with an APR tune (93 octane) and would hold a solid 15psi. It's certainly not too much for a stock motor, but it will wear your turbos prematurely, as they are running right at about 100% at that point. I ended up popping one of mine after about 3 years on the tune. I can't say that the tune was the cause of the turbo failure, but it certainly didn't help it!

Our turbos don't get as much heat soak as the B5 chassis I believe. Theoretically should be fine.

I think Turbo failure issues were pre-2003 or 2004 which is when they updated the oil supply lines to a larger size.
