I am totally going to track mine... I took this corner this morning (a nice, perfectly graded sharp merge onto a main highway... made a right from 370 to Great Seneca for you Marylanders) literally at like 80, and I hit the perfect line while the truck just stuck (my work bag and car wash crap went flying though HAHA).

With springs and Pzero's this thing is ready for the track...

BTW how are the brakes? Ever fade???

Stripes. I love how they looked but had to peel them because the dip dried faster than I could pull and I took a small piece of stripe off with the tape. Barely noticeable, but I knew it was there. I'll try it again when I have enough garage space to pull it in from the wind. Still, came out good (IMO) for $6 + tape.

I've been to three track days so far. No one can believe the agility of this little SUV. In fact, I think I might have sold one to this one guy, but I digress. The brakes never faded! Not at all. I was very impressed because they didn't even get spongy. I had the P-Zero on the first two days, but the Atturo on for the last. The Atturos are great all-season tires, but suck on the track. I'll probably get some wider 20" wheels & tires before I go back to the track. Also, I always use manual-dynamic for everyday driving, but sport does an excellent job on the track. When you're paying attention to other traffic, track flags, hand signals, turn-in, apex, track-out, passing, and not crashing your $60K ride, it's good to have the auto shift like I would if I could handle just one more task. You'll take everything out of the car for track day, but I always have my stuff (4-foot ladder, two tool boxes, and other assorted shit) arranged so that everything is wedged together and doesn't move around in the back. ...but that's me, a registered speed offender.

P.S.
...and yes, you can definitely tell the difference without that panoramic sunroof. Having driven both, you can tell that the CoG is lower. This is best realized in a slalom. There is less pitch and body roll.

Yeah, these Atturos have been excellent in every aspect, but they sucked at the track...worth every penny!

I've considered lowering, but I still haven't decided. It would look better at the Euro height, but I like not having to slow down for speed bumps and the ability to jump curbs if necessary. I'm in Texas, and this is the smallest SUV I've had. I don't really want to be any lower and not having the extra weight on top really balances the difference, for me at least.

Get h&r sport springs!! 29001-1.
They make the ride very planted and eliminate alot of body roll. add to that no pano roof and your SQ will be amazing at cornering/handling.

With my h&rs theres no need to slow down for speed bumps lol. and personally i wouldn't jump a curb in my q5 but its still possible, its only a subtle drop

After going back to OEM springs. My 2 year old calls it a "Monster Truck" now. I was thinking of painting the upper suspension parts black so they don't stick out as much, anybody got a suggestion for that?

I hear ya. I put H&R springs on my Lexus IS350..while it looked great and handled better the rough ride go old…every expansion joint, manhole cover etc was harsh..Gonna leave the Q5 stock from the spring standpoint..

Lowered and big improvement in handling for reasonable $ Bilstein B12 Pro (Eibach Springs/Bilstein Struts) the struts really improved compression and rebound control.

Next it needs some 3m 1080 gloss black on the front grill and chrome sides.

Where's the 'like' button on the A7 action? This is almost as sweet as an A7 out of Ingolstadt. Congratulations - that is one heck of a rig.

Here's a shot from this afternoon, using my feeble old DX Nikon. :) Gave the Q a nice rinseless wash and spruce-up following a 2k-mile drive thru the desert. Natural light was miserable. I'm hoping to capture some better shots tomorrow.

Yessir!!! These are Aperature-Priority JPEG+RAW images just dumped to ipad via Wifi and posted with minimal effect (only 'chrome' for top pic) all others are untouched.

Haven't got in lightroom yet on a couple shots I took out on Sundown Road last evening, but methinks the results will be amazing!!

So I had a old Nikon which I had for 5 years (which broke), I then went to Nex-6 for 2.5 years (which also broke, and sony wanted $400 for new main board). So, when the A7 with kit lens went on sale Sunday morning to basically half price (with free SD Card and Extra Battery), I couldn't resist (A7II just came out, so these are being discounted)...

I'm going to pick up some nice 70-240mm glass and I'm all set for the Austin WEC race in September... Finally get to see the Audi Sport R18 cars in the flesh (bucket list).

Those B12 look sweet on your car. Not too low, right height looks good w/out sacrificing the ride. Maybe after seeing, I should put mine back on lol...

It's a carbon fiber 5D wrap, but I'm probably going to replace it sometime soon with real cf. Can't justify the cost at the moment. Planning on getting Unitronic K04 within the next week or so, which is more in my top 'to do' list.

For a real CF hood I've seen one sold by OSIR and one through VIS.
