And now my thread is FINALLY up to date after those massive photos dumps.

So basically, I raced my girlfriends full bolt on stage 2 S3 and she pulled on me. I also thought that my turbos were blown because my car was smoking pretty bad, and I heard the infamous dentist drill. On top of that, my motor was leaking a decent amount of oil, probably from things i did last winter. So, I pulled the motor again to replace the turbos, and upgrade some more things. When I pulled the K04, I determined they were not the problem at all, as there was no irregularities with them and no oil in the turbine housings.

I am upgrading to RS6 turbos with mamba wastegates, 1000cc injectors, walbro 450 fuel pump, air/fuel gauge, retune by Blake @ ET Spec and will finally get rid of the flashing “close gas cap” error!, 3 inch downpipes (currently exhaust is 3 inch down to 2.5 and then steps back up to 2.75 at my cat back), ecs lightweight power steering and alternator pulleys, rs4 throttle body, big belly intake manifold ported for 2.8 heads which I just bought a supertech valvetrain kit for.

That being said about the 2.8 heads, they won’t be going on the car until next winter, when I also do a bottom end build. A friend came over and helped out with a leak down test. My front driver side cylinder had 70% leak down and he said he thinks it’s bad piston rings. Great. So, why swap 2.8 heads onto my current long block? I know I will lose some functionality of the intake manifold porting but it will be good for the long term. I figure if I can get it on now with the larger throttle body, I might as well get some use out of it. I also don’t want to rush a motor build this winter, and go broke trying to do so. Instead, this year I’ll focus on acquiring parts in order to build a block on the side, then pull the motor and swap it out

So why do you think you were down on power? No way that S3 should be pulling on you. What RS6 turbos are you going with?

I don’t know, I mean it was a very close pull. I’ll text you the video. Could’ve just been the transmission, I was no lift shifting but my car really didn’t like that lol

Well Joe, I finally caught up with your thread again - I feel exhausted just reading about all the work you've been doing

I didn't know you have to pull the engine to install the gauges by the steering wheel

Now seriously, once again, the car looks amazing, the deep dish rims and the fitment, the body work turned out really great and the interior looks just amazing !!!

And congrats to your Euro Summit Best Interior and Top 25. !!!

Acquired a full supertech valvetrain kit for my 2.8 heads that will be a part of a motor build I’m doing next winter

Some random photos from a meet in the fall

Installed some ECS lightweight power steering and alternator pulleys

While I was out in Colorado in December my Brand new BW C5 RS6 turbos showed up to the house and my dad sent them out to Project B5 to be converted for a 2.7T with the added mamba wastegates. Super happy with the work, they installed fairly straightforward, although I had to shave one of the turbo housings down to get a banjo bolt in.

Also my buddy Carlton aka 27Swap who makes the absolute best 2.7 swap wiring boards came over and re wired my car, now I no longer have the janky swap harness that my car used to have, and I’m praying I have AC this year since all the components are brand new.

I also installed a Walbro 450 in tank fuel pump, and paired with the 1000 cc injectors I’ll be e85 capable. I will probably do a tune for that next winter

Got a new transmission since mine was shifting kinda shitty, was only $200 so I figured “while I’m in there” like I do with everything else

Sent the motor home, was fairly easy since I’m a pro at this point

Got the parts in to fab my new downpipes, had 3 inch off the turbo which necked down to 2.5, and then I have the 2.75 cat back so I figured it was time to take out the bottleneck and get proper 3 inch downpipes

Buttoned up the interior, love how the dual gauges look! Got the core support on, and swapped on my rotors from my A3 since I had to send one of the rotiforms back for a warranty refinish from the powder clear blemish

Pinned my hood with the help of my good friend Yobe, was super necessary with the Carbon hood since my hood would basically be lifting open on the highway. Wasn’t thrilled that I needed them but I honestly don’t hate the look, and we did a really good and clean job with the install

Closed on a house on March 5 that had a detached barn that came with the lift already installed! The drum set and other stuff was the previous owners that wasn’t out when i took the photo. Super stoked about my new workspace for my annual motor pulls, and to allow me the opportunity to part cars out too. I picked up another b7 parts car back in January and have stored it at my moms place. Bringing it to my new house on Wednesday!

Dropped my car back off to my friend Slav for some paint work. Getting the hood fade redone, the rear quarters needed some work done since they bubbled up, and having some random things painted gloss black

    Random shots

And now I’m current with today

I found out that my 2.7 has low compression, which has been the case I guess all year, since I had a check engine light pop up for “random multiple misfire” and “cylinder 4 misfire”. I was KILLING myself trying to figure this out, since I have all new spark plugs, coil packs and injectors. I was troubleshooting all sorts of issues before just turning it over to my trusted shop - SpeedSport Tuning in Danbury CT. I went in and chatted with the service advisor at length about all the troubleshooting and when I notice it missing, and I guess that prompted the compression test.

So that being said, I had already bought 2.8 heads and a whole supertech valvetrain kit as well. Today I just ordered pauter rods, mahle power pak 85.1 pistons and calico coated rod bearings. Going to drop a spare block and the heads off to the machine shop soon and get the ball rolling

I’m shooting to have my car all done by February in hopes of taking it to EuroTripper

    Nice pics. Beautiful car.

Congrats on the proposal. Hope she said yes.

Can't wait to see the 2.7/2.8 build.
