    Trunk latch flap failure

I've had my S4 for almost two weeks now, it's a '14 PP with about 15k miles on it. Just got back from a weekend trip, first extended trip with the car and it performed great. But sometime over the weekend I discovered that the spring-loaded plastic flap over the trunk latch had come loose on one side. It's still barely hanging on from the left side, but the right side is disconnected. The trunk still opens and closes, but I'm pretty sure the whole flap will come off soon.

So... anyone else have issues with this? And what is this piece supposed to do? Does it keep little bits from falling down into the latch area when the trunk is open?

That's the plan, but I don't have a dealer locally so I was just looking for some more information.
