Deezys mod, maintenance and progression thread

Hey guys. I've been on AZ for what seems like forever (since 2004) and I'm currently on my 3rd Audi. I have never done a build thread so I guess it's time.

Quick catch up, I've had a B5 S4 and a B8.5 S5. 6 speed manual for both of them. Both were great cars.

Here's a shot of the S4 and my Ninja ZX-6R(before it got stolen)

Pic of the S5. There's a thread in the B8 section if you want to see more. Pic taken by @bknewtype

Now I'm on to a base model Quartz Gray B7 A4 6mt with black interior and I can honestly say that I love it. Here's some quick and crappy iPhone pics from when I first picked it up in May 2014 completely stock with about 82k miles:

Recently did the factory(euro spec) bi-xenon retrofit and clear bumper reflectors. It's amazing how much it changes the front end of the car. Not to mention the safety factor of having xenons and actually being able to see at night.

Thanks man! The reason I got rid of the S5 was to buy an engagement ring. It was an extra car so I hardly ever drove it anyway.

I picked up the B7 because I wanted something better on gas than my Jeep and I wasn't going to go to another brand other than Audi. I swore I wouldn't mod this car but that went out the window.

Very impossible. The fiancι laughed at me when I was buying the car and I said I wasn't going to touch it. Almost one year later and I cracked and started modding. I did good for a while though! She's still laughing at me btw but I have a good one. She doesn't complain and she doesn't care how I spend my money. Win.

Thanks for reminding me..I've been meaning to update my info but I keep forgetting. Its done now

Congrats on the ring, and that S5 looks so beautiful, but as I've read from you and many others the driver feel of the B7 just can't be beat by the B8s huh? I haven't driven a B8 recently I need to get behind the wheel of one again.

She would have been great if we made a deal on her, but I can't say I'm mad at my purchase either...except for my oil burning.

Lol, looking forward to your progress!

Thanks Brandon! Yup, the B7 feels so much better to drive. I can't believe how much I really like this car.

You definitely would have been solid in the maintenance department and my car doesn't burn any oil at all either. But Im happy we didn't go through with it, and I'm glad you found the car you were looking for! Hopefully you get that issue sorted out soon!

lol awesome man, thats what were here for. Theres a reason why I sent you those long detailed messages. I was only trying to help and educate you on the car. I know you had a TSX, I came from an RSX-S to my first Audi back in the day and as you can tell, they're a whole different animal when it comes to maintenance. Happy to help man.

Thanks bud! Did I mention my S5 was a lease and I only had it for a month when I started modding it like that? The mod bug is a definitely powerful thing.

More updates coming soon. As for now, got some S4 Recaros put in.

Here's a comparison of the S4 vs. A4 seat before I had the airbag bladder swapped. Don't worry I only drove it like that for 30 minutes up to the shop.

Here's the full interior in all its awesomeness:

YES Recaros. I just got a set of RS4 ones from a member on here, and they're absolutely wonderful. Money well spent. What else do you have planned?

Oh that's right. I remember seeing those for sale. You just did the bi-xenons too right? I remember seeing everything for sale in the classifieds all at once.

Which mod do you like better? Being that I did the xenons and recaros back to back as well, I have to say that the headlights are by far my favorite mod to date.

Upcoming plans are oem s-line suspension and RS4 reps. I'll get some pics up soon.

lol it's a good combo to have! It just transported my recaros, suspension, wheels and whatever else I've been buying up lately that I don't even remember.

Which Jeep do you have? I'm leasing a 2013 grand cherokee trailhawk. I absolutely love it but the gas mileage on the V8 is a killer! I'm only averaging about 11mpg.

I've always been curious about RS4 reps. Coming from forums where you get bashed for reps, and I do agree at times (XXR, STR, no name BBS LM reps, etc.), I would expect members of an Audi group to be so against replica or lower quality wheels. What company manufactures a majority of RS4 reps out there anyway?

Awesome! I use it to tow around the seadoo's and other random crap people ask favors for. Its definitely nice driving alarge vehicle once in a while.
2008 Grand Cherokee Trail Rated Pkg with the 5.7l Hemi. Its one of my favorite bodies on the grand cherokee. I considered trading in the a trailhawk but couldn't convince the wife on it. She doesnt care for the headlights at all, says it looks like a shark. haha

Yeah, I decided to keep the B7 and pour a bit of cash into her. I grabbed the Recaros, the bi-xenons, and a set of B7 S4 wheels. All of them have their perks, but I do love the way the headlights look. The light output can't be beat compared to halogens either. Dem seats tho. The wheels have yet to go on the car, but I would like to get a set of B5 spring perches for the front to level everything out. I'd recommend them to you as well, if you're going with the s-line/sport suspension.

I've been looking around for a 3-spoke steering wheel as well, but nothing has grabbed my attention yet...

Yea I agree with you. Im against using reps of name brand wheels, but for a factory style wheel it doesn't really matter to me. I mean I'm sure the quality is different than OEM, but for me, I just love the way the RS4 wheel looks and I'm not trying to spend a crazy amount of money on this car. I was $15k deep into the S5 and its just not something I'm looking to do again. Especially now that I'm paying for a wedding.

2008 Grand Cherokee Trail Rated Pkg with the 5.7l Hemi. Its one of my favorite bodies on the grand cherokee. I considered trading in the a trailhawk but couldn't convince the wife on it. She doesnt care for the headlights at all, says it looks like a shark. haha
haha I think you're thinking of the regular Cherokee trail hawk. That thing is a baby Jeep. I have the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk. I think they only offered it for one year. Nothing "sharky" about this beast: (side note: I had them take off that awful hood sticker before I took delivery of it)

I honestly wasn't going to mod this car. I just found really good prices on this stuff so it was hard to pass up. The seats were dirt cheap, the euro xenon headlights were very fair IMO and came with 2 extra ballasts, and the wheels cost almost nothing as well.

I was always a fan of the 17 & 18" Avus wheels on the S4. I almost got them for my car as well but I just love the RS4 style, no matter how played out they are.

I already have a set of B5 perches . I scooped up a mint set from the classifieds here for a steal about a month or so ago. Before I even had the s-line suspension lol.

Did your car not come with a 3 spoke? Mine has it

Always good to find deals! I need to find some of those spring perches; I found a complete set of B5 suspension for $50. I may just grab that and harvest the perches from it.

Love the GC trailhawk! And the Avus wheels. I haven't seen them on a B7, but I'm not sure if I'd like the look with the newer body style. Your car is a 2006; from what I've seen, they ditched the 3-spoke steering wheel, old style shift knob, and symphony 1 when they went to MY 2007. I've got the lame 4-spoke one. How do you like yours?

Hello B8: P+ Quattro, 6 Speed, Sport. Stg. 1 APR, CR-15, Fly Designs steering wheel, Euro Impulse shift knob, Macan BBK, Alu Kreuz, 034 RSB + endlinks, SPC control arms...

Yup! First need to fix the rear main ( of course) Then I will likely be doing an IRO lift, haven't decided how high and then some nice 31s

Its a LTD 5.2 with an exhaust already so it has a nice little rumble to it

I would say that's a good deal to grab them for $50. I paid around $40.

Thanks! The Jeep is awesome. I love it.

A few of the early 2005.5 B7 S4's came with those avus wheels. I think it looks nice.

Oh gotcha. I'm glad I have an 06 then :) Love the 3 spoke. I agree, that 4 spoke wheel is hideous. Believe it or not, when I was looking for my A4, I wouldn't even consider ones that had the 4 spoke. I had no clue why some had it and some didn't back then tho.

Haha nice man! I'm not too well educated on the lingo in the world of jeeps, but I do know that I love how they look when lifted with nice tires.

The Recaros are a great upgrade - in the eight years I've had my B6 A4, they're still my favorite mod I've done. Super comfortable, way more supportive, and they look better (which is subjective, and probably insignificant).

My favorite mod is hands down the xenon upgrade. But I do agree with you on all other points.

While the recaros are very comfortable and supportive, I did them more so for the looks than anything else. They're gorgeous seats.

Yea I thought it was a neat subtle thing to change. I might send my cluster out to get the color DIS retrofitted so if I do that, ill have him put the face on at the same time.

Picked up this mint oem s-line suspension. It was removed from the car with only 1,000 miles on it before the owner went to coilovers.

Also have B5 perches to go along with it.

Any pics of the bayonet bulbs in the car? I was gonna buy them, but very skeptical when vendors say white. I see them listed as a 6k. My dome light is a super bright white, wanna make sure the 4 map lights will match.

Yea I've heard in another thread that some of the LED bulbs from other places actually give off a purplish color. I can assure you that these are white and bright.

You should just buy the whole kit. Would look nice with the white car.
