auto start/stop function disable

Has anyone had any luck disabling or at least defaulting to off the start/stop function? I have a 2016 A6 and want to have the system defaulted to the off position or permanently disabled. I have tried to disable the system threw vag-com by deselecting it in numerous control modules but the system still remains active.

On my 2016 S6 I pressed the button on the dash (the A with the circle around it under the sim card slot) a few days after taking delivery and have left it on ever since. It stays on. I'm personally not a fan of start/stop.

That is what i was hoping would happen but mine seems to default back to the on position once the ignition is cycled.

Odd, on my old A6 I pushed the button before driving it off the showroom floor and never had to press it again.

I had the stop function when I opened my door and the engine stopped running. I disabled it with VAG but I don't know if its possible to disable start/stop function...

a) worth of adaption channel 34 reduce by 4 (effected Bit 2 to 0) = SSA per default after each ignition on to off

or

b) add to worth of adaption channel 34 the worth 32 (effected Bit 5 to 1) = SSA with memory-function

and/or

c) add to worth of adaption channel 34 the worth 64 (effected Bit 6 to 1) = SSA with inverted display

How do you tell when it's in 4 cylinder mode?? I'm typically in Individual or Dynamic so not sure how much deactivation I get.

you can definitely feel it for one. Also there is this split second when you are at a complete stop at a light, if you look for it, you can feel it. I do not believe it will ever activate in dynamic mode.

If you go to consumption mode in the DIS you'll see the bar go green.

Thanks for the update guys. The only time I could tell is at speed on the highway if you speed up a bit to overtake you feel a slight lag. But I like that 27 MPG!!

To those who have tried this and have had luck... If I want option B, which I would assume most people do, is it simply changing the value in bit 34 from 20 to 52? Trying to disect this post, think that has to be right, but want to confirm before doing it. Already tried using the CAN gateway dropdown, but that didn't do the trick.

2018 S6... I just push the button and it stays off.

This is exactly what I did with mine. I actually tested it last night to make sure it still worked....turned it right back off. Hope you can figure out OP how to leave it off. Maybe just the S models have the ability to leave it off and remembers it.

That is correct, but then you have the ugly yellow light on all the time. So if you invert the function it is off all the time with the light off.

Yep, thats what I did. Now if there was a way to turn invert the blind spot assist led by the drivers side mirror.....

Quoting myself here, but this indeed worked on my 2016. Central Electric, login with security code, adaptation channel 34 change value from 20 to 52 (for option B as outlined above). I’m sure the others would work as well, I don’t personally mind the yellow light for now :)
