    Annoying limp mode

Hi so getting the flashing PRND and P0706 (range sensor), im very sure its not the TCM.
After i reset the MIL the limpmode goes away and the car runs perfect. I can drive the car super long distances without problem. After i turn it off and start it up again the PRND start flashing again sometimes not. Basically its very intermittent and after i reset the codes it runs fine.

Is it true that on a B6 A4 non quattro the TCM is inside the transmission?

And also i read up that there are 3 trans sensors, 1 under battery, 1 on top of differential, and 1 on the transmission. Im thinking theres a bad/dirty connection somewhere and its causing this fault. Literally after i reset the codes the car runs perfect!! even in limpmode once i take off its drives fine.

Guys where should i start ? car has 82,000 miles.

(i have a B5 S4 that had a flooded tcm under passenger carpet and it ran in limpmode, i replaced it with a new one and it ran perfect, untill i cleaned up the harness i was getting the range sensor code but the car was running perfect like this one)

Anyways, reverse works! is this the range sensor or tcm guys?
