    One key not working S4 B8 2010

Hello, I'm new to the forum. I have just bought an Audi S4 for my wife and we had it for about a week. The car came with 3 keys in total, 2 remote controls, and one spare plastic key. The plastic key works fine and starts the car, one of the remote control also works fine, both to open and to start the car. The second remote however, does not work to open the car or to start the car. This sounds a bit strange to me, I thought the RFID start chip and the remote function was separated, so I would expect only one to fail, not both at the same time.

I have used VCDS to check how many keys that are programmed into the car. The system says "3". The 2 working keys are identified as 1 and 3. I have read that it might be possible using VCDS to re-program a remote control, but then I think the RFID chip needs to work?

Is there some way for me to re-program the non-working key and the remote, or do I have to deliver the car to Audi so they can fix it?

The key is indeed for my car, the metal "real" key to that remote works, and I have replaced the battery.

The car was imported from Italy so I don't really have any chances to go back to the seller.

Greatful for any input or experience regarding similar problems.

Dealer will need to reprogram all of the keys.

And it's ~$100 for them to do it - I just had to get my new additional key programmed and IIRC that's what they charged the car dealer to do it....

PITA - but that's how they control they key access....

Thanks a lot for all replies. I will take it in to the dealer and see how much they take to fix this.
