Sooo when I bought my car for a bargain I knew I'd have to put some work into it. It's a northern car so it's rusty...

Powersteering was toast, Serpentine belt toast, typical boost leaks ( tbb etc ), Fuel leak from the filter just to name a few.

so this being my 2nd S4 I knew what I was getting into but then.......

bought a new fuel filter and washers, still leaked, bought more new washers still leak.... destroyed the filter taking it on and off so much, bought a better filter and realized the line from the pump to the filter was leaking at the banjo..... fixed that. Done after like 4 days.

Then the boost leaks... TBB no big deal bought a mishimoto one even tho the engine covers dont fit on with it... cool... installed a boost gauge and cut the living day lights out of my hand working with that god awful brake booster hose.... WHY DOES IT HAVE METAL!?!?

THENNNN car is intermittently in limp mode. Buy a RossTech cable, EGT sensor. Bypass that, woo car is fast and fun again!

Now I tackle the powersteering..... oh my god, the serpentine belt was disintegrating and stretch to all hell... actually touching itself where the tensioner goes so I cut it off. get down to the PS pump and guess what! the bracket is broken in 3 places.... luckily it still holds the pump just fine and solid. get that done and the pulley back on ( not fun with the lock carrier still on ) and come to find out the serpentine tensioner doesnt have the 17mm nub to unload it, its twisted off broke.... so I use a pry bar to move it and find a drill bit to hold it in place, get the belt on tighten everything up.... prime the pump. Nope, no power steering... no noise either so I'm like shit oh well. On my way to work the power steering decides to start coming to life in a jerky way, then on the way home it works great. I come to check the fluid level and top it off from the air and come to see I think my new pump it leaking from the front seal.......

SIGH* but at least i still love the car.
