What is a P012b Engine Code?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hello,

Last night I did a couple hard pulls and after the second one MIL came one, no lost of power though. Checked it this morning and cleared it out, this is the code it showed (p012b), however I can't find anything about it. If anybody can help, please do.

Could it be the recall that was just announced? Calling the dealer tomorrow.

    http://consumerist.com/2015/01/27/vo...-lead-to-fire/

Even though fuel prices have precipitously dropped in recent months, no one wants to waste their gas because of a fuel leak. For that reason, and because a fuel leak could lead to a vehicle fire, Volkswagen is recalling nearly 26,000 sedans and SUVS in the U.S. and 80,000 worldwide.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports [PDF] that Volkswagen has issued a recall for 26,008 vehicles in the United States after receiving reports of small fuel leaks in a number of models.
Affected vehicles include the 2012 model year Audi A6 and Volkswagen Touareg hybrid, model year 2012 to 2013 Audi A7 and the model year 2011 to 2012 Audi Q7, S4 and S5.
According to a notice [PDF] from Volkswagen, which owns the Audi brand, vibration during driving, and production issues can cause small leaks in the vehicles’ fuel injection system.
Officials say that a leak – no matter how small – in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a vehicle fire.
While Volkswagen says it is unaware of any fires or injuries caused by the issue, reports received by NHTSA detail consumers’ concerns regarding the leaks.
In one report, the consumer claims fuel fumes appeared under the hood and through the air conditioner vents in their 2012 Audi A6. A local dealer determined the vehicle had a fuel leak.
Owners of affected vehicles will be notified in March and dealers will replace fuel rails and corresponding seals.

What did you use to pull the codes with?

Could be the rail.. But do you suspect a leak?

Hello! I am brand new here with a new to me 2011 S4. After driving it for a few days the same P012B code popped up. Can you share what solution you found for yours?

    Thank you!

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread but I did search and didn't find much (on audizine and on google) - did anyone have this code P012B and what was the issue and solution? I just got the check engine light and scanned with torque and got the P012B code - the car runs fine but the idle is messed up - it goes up to about 1200rpm and down to 700rpm constantly as soon as I turn on the AC. When the AC is not on it's still there but it's much less pronounced(I don't see the rpm needle moving but I can hear the engine going slightly up and down in rpm's). This is all I could find on google: "Generic - Turbocharger/Supercharger Inlet Pressure Sensor Circuit Range/Performance Downstream of throttle valve"

    Help?

    Dude,

I actually never found out for sure, also a couple of month after I had some issues with rough idling and ended up replacing the following and I have been perfect ever since.

Replace your cwa50 pump with a cwa100 for $300. There's a thread on here with a link to where to get the kit. Just happened to me and replacing it fixed it.

I just got this code aswell, RPMs when parking the car set there and fluctuated.

One person is saying replace MAP sensors, other is saying replace water pump. Has anybody else found a solution?

No clue but I've had this code on and off for two years now. I've replaced ALL MAP sensors and the issue went away for a little (at least I thought). It's now back. Seems to happen in warmer/humid weather. No issues over the winter.

P012B - Charger inlet pressure rationality check
    • Pressure difference in cross check between boost pressure sensor 1/2; IM pressure, ambient pressure sensor
    • Pressure difference in cross check between boost pressure sensor 1/2; IM pressure

With that compressor, the 3.0T has three pressure sensors:
pre-compressor inlet charge pressure sender G71 (with intake manifold temp sender G42)
post-compressor bank 1 manifold boost pressure sender G31 (with intake manifold temp sender G72)
post-compressor bank 2 manifold boost pressure sender G447 (with intake manifold temp sender G430)

    Other errors in the area:
P012C Charger inlet pressure short to ground
    Signal voltage < 0.2 V
P012D Charger inlet pressure short to B+
    Signal voltage > 4.8 V

The document doesn't explain the actual formula evaluating the input signals to conclude a P012B, though.

What was the solution? I'm getting a P012B as well and I can't figure it out. I've replaced all MAP sensors, checked wiring, checked for boost/vacuum leaks with no luck.
