Clear bra or race tape (or both)?

I am thinking about taking a new RS7 to track day at Laguna Seca. I have been advised to ether clear bra or race tape the front to keep it from getting damaged by random debris. This would be in addition the to normal taping of the front and rear lights, etc.

    Any advise would be helpful.

    Thanks!

Clear bra is long-term protection. If you want to protect the car against road debris period, get the clear bra. I would certainly recommend it if you're planning on tracking the car on a regular basis. Otherwise, if you're not worried about long-term protection and simply wish to protect the car against minor debris while at the track, you could go as simple as painter's tape. Clear bra is definitely the better overall solution as it will give you a little more protection against bigger debris than simply taping would.

    netispguy,

Paint protection is great for all occasions, but is especially important for track days. We have a product called Tracwrap by XPEL. This 8.5 mil thick film (compare to painters tape at 2-4mils thick) is very durable and is still easy to install. The video below will demonstrate it's durability against blue painters tape.

Hope this info helps, good luck on the track!
