You could usually plug holes as long as they do not interfere with the sidewall

Yes. That can be plugged. Although I personally don't like plugs for performance vehicles. If you drive around town normally then it's perfectly fine.

I thought the preferred method of repair was patching from the inside not plugging these days. Either way that is the place to have a problem - nowhere near the sidewall.

Yes however from this angle I can't tell how close the thread is to the wear bars

patching is more acceptable but some places you pay more for it since its move involved. But a plug will work just fine providing you use quality plugs

def fixable. Plug or patch would work, i'd opt for a patch though.

Thanks guys bringing it in soon. I hate the idea of plugging but don't want to drop good money for new tires just yet. The tread is 7/32, so ok for now.

Shouldn't be an issue but I strongly suggest patching it. I have had multiple plugs fail. Most shops around me won't even use a plug. Just pay the extra for the patch.

when you get a nail in your tire thats about the best placement possible, plug or patch both will work fine.

recommended patch and small plug. I've seen multiple plugs leak, and patch only, as others said, allows the steel to be subjected to the elements.

You shouldn't cheap out on fixing a tire, especially if you drive aggressively or do more highway driving. Basic Chevy Aveo with 195/15"? Sure a plug is fine.
