Unlock code for stereo (Bose Symphony II)

I sold my stock stereo/radio to someone because I installed an aftermarket sound system. I didn't realize you needed an unlock code in order to use it. Is there any way the guy who bought it can unlock it without having to pay Audi an arm and a leg?

I read some other forum posts about calling an Audi dealership and giving them your VIN# and AUZ# but in his case the 2 numbers won't match up. Do you think it is possible to unlock it using MY VIN# and the AUZ# of the radio?

Yes, you'll need your VIN and the AUZ number off of the unit you sold. Call them and typically within a few hours they will call you back with the pin.

If the stock radio was from your car, did you look in the owners manual for the radio code? It's printed on a tear-out card in the radio section of the manual.

Dealer may not give. Audi USA will. I called them 2x with no issues. (800) 822-2834

Some dealers may even charge, for the inconvenience of having to call Audi USA for you basically.
