Unlock code for stereo (Bose Symphony II)

I sold my stock stereo/radio to someone because I installed an aftermarket sound system. I didn't realize you needed an unlock code in order to use it. Is there any way the guy who bought it can unlock it without having to pay Audi an arm and a leg?

I read some other forum posts about calling an Audi dealership and giving them your VIN# and AUZ# but in his case the 2 numbers won't match up. Do you think it is possible to unlock it using MY VIN# and the AUZ# of the radio?

    Thanks in advance!

Do you have to pull out the radio to get the serial number? I have an '04 cabrio with the non-Bose radio. I didn't get the radio code from the PO and want it in case I need it.
    Thanks.

Yes, the serial will be printed on a label that you can't see with the radio installed.

Positive? I thought for sure, it's the car it came out of, so they can verify the radio

Do you have the radio manual? It's generally printed in there.
