Newly installed jhm Parts / 2015 rt charger test.

Hey all, I've had my nagaro b6 s4 going on two years. When i bought it it had lowering springs, fast intentions exhaust, aftermarket wheels, jhm short shifter kit, and a apikol snub. Only thing I did up until recently was put vmr 710s on it and 2.5" careless downpipes.

I though the car was decently fast ran it with plenty of cars and it was no slouch. Well for 2014 Christmas I decided finally to purchase the jhm tune, lwcp/6 rib kit, LWFR, and 034 snub. All I can say is wow. This car is a beast compared to before. The torque difference is amazing, I find myself grinning every time I press the pedal.

Well after I installed the parts. Is ent out for a test run, my neighbor apparently heard me. He follows me and flags me down and a abandoned road. He said it sounded nice. He asked if is wanted to test those New parts out. He has a 2015 charger rt with 370hp hemi.

Only mods he has are catback and 9 gallons of race fuel. We line it up, I'm a nerd and didn't want to blow my clutch so I launched it at 3800. He was half a car behind my rear bumper through first and second. His front bumper stayed at my rear quarter panel through 3rd. He passed me when I was in fourth gear barely just barely. He got his headlight out in front of my front bumper before we shut it down.

It kind of caught me off gaurd that he reeled me in. Anyone else have any input on those new hemis? What made me mad was he sad if he did launch control right he would've pulled me of the launch . Something about my car was fast for what it is .

Nice looking ride. Give that engine bay some love. Yea AWD can be great and it can suck. In this case it sucks.. power. Damn extra drive train loss. Oh thermodynamics, curse you! FYI its better to launch harder; you want a little wheel spin, if not your drive train is taking a lot more of the load and you can break things. There is a fine line between just the right amount of wheel slip and spinning your tires.

Interesting, I would say given more roadway you should have pulled him. Not drastically but on the top end you should start to pull away from him a little. I can't imagine he's gaining that much power from just race fuel and a CB. I would try doing a few more runs with him, granted you can find a safe place to do. so https://youtu.be/mXdeQOjuvJk

He passed me when we were around 110mph. I was looking up the trap speeds on those New rts, I believe they do trap higher than ours.. So it makes sense I guess.

I guess now I need to add some more performance upgrades to blow those away. I've raced the older ones and they were nothing compared to the New ones.

As previously mentioned, you have to account for awd vs rwd drivetrain loss.

That's a little disappointing because are S4 stock runs 0-in mid to low 5 sec range and with your list of mods should be no slouch. The cool thing is your cars 10+ yrs old and is still superior to that crappy thing regardless lol

Yeah I figured. It's not like he left me sitting. It took him forever to pass. Not even launching with launch assist I still left him by quite a bit. My passenger thought the dude messed up.but the rt is auto.

I guess it's time to add some more power, what do you think I would benefit more with.. Stage 4 clutch and flywheel or ported intake manifold?

That's gonna be so much fun man. YOu'll be able to launch so hard. Why not go with a JHM R clutch though?

I was kindve worried about daily drivability. In Charleston there can be a lot of traffic.. Is there a big difference between the R and stage 4?

Your passenger cost you how many lbs? Awd is heavy, shed as much weight as possible. Full sized spare is 50lbs to lose if your carrying that. Floor mats and associated other miscellaneus junk can really add up.

So quick update I know it's lame but I used perfexpert (got good reviews nicely set up and engineered.) to just get a baseline of est whp and torque. Did 5 runs and they were showing 280-304 whp/250-275 wtq. That's led me to check out the intake manifold flap because it's missing torque. I found my flap is sticking.. It's very hard to move by hand. And doesn't seem to modulate all the way. So I raced the Dodge with a sticking flap.. Is what it seems. I'm placing my order Monday for a new jhm upgraded manifold. :)

If you plan on going sc or nitrous, I would recommend JHM's R series clutch setup rather than the stage 4. Ask them about it when you're ready.

You should really consider putting the stock airbox back in.

I don't have the stock airbox when i purchased the car this is what It had. I'm trying to source one. I don't have that Aux radiator on that side tho so hopefully it's not pulling in to much hot air.

Yeah it's fast now. I'm amazed. Completely worth it. Also did the oil check valve. This motor was swapped into my car last year by a shop that blew my last motor. I can't believe it was that dirty for 70k on it.

There a big difference between R and stage 4? I'm sure daily drive ability suffers correct?
