We're pleased to announce an exclusive Introductory Special on the new 034Motorsport Billet Aluminum Rear Differential Carrier Mount Insert Upgrade Kit for the B6/B7 Audi A4/S4/RS4 Quattro!

034Motorsport Rear Differential Carrier Mount Insert Kit, B6/B7 Audi A4/S4/RS4, Billet Aluminum

    Retail: $95.00 + Shipping

    Introductory Special: $85.00 + Shipping

Introductory special pricing is limited to the first 30 buyers. Thank you for all of the interest, and we hope you enjoy the upgrade!

034Motorsport is please to present our new Billet Aluminum Rear Differential Carrier Mount Insert Upgrade for the B6/B7 Audi A4/S4/RS4! The factory Audi rear differential carrier bushings have voids in the rubber damping medium, which results in excessive rear differential movement (twisting) under load. This movement allows for unwanted drivetrain slop (and sometimes clunks) than can be observed when accelerating, decelerating, and shifting.

These billet aluminum inserts are designed to fill the voids in the factory B6/B7 Audi A4/S4/RS4 rear differential carrier mounts, and limit rear differential movement without sacrificing ride quality or introducing any additional noise, vibration, or harshness into the cabin. By filling the voids in the factory mounts, these inserts eliminate the associated slop and ensures that you're experiencing smoother shifting and throttle transitions, and an improved driving experience.

Installation is very simple, can be performed in minutes, and is completely reversible. This upgrade is the easiest and most effective way to limit unwanted differential movement, improve throttle response, and increase shifting performance on your B6/B7 Audi A4/S4/RS4 Quattro.

    Features:
    • CNC-Machined Billet Aluminum Construction with Clear Anodized Finish
    • Application-Specific Design Featuring Stainless Steel Securing Washers
    • Engineered to Fill Voids In Factory Rear Differential Mounts
    • Drastically Reduces Rear Differential Movement During Shifting, Acceleration, and Deceleration
    • Improves Shifting Feel, Resulting in Crisper Shifts
    • Will Not Cause Additional NVH Transfer Inside Cabin
    • Easy, Straightforward Installation Takes Minutes!

    What's Included:
    • 034Motorsport Billet Aluminum Rear Differential Carrier Mount Insert Pair
    • High Strength Stainless Steel Securing Washer Pair

    Fitment:
    • 2002 - 2005 Audi A4 (B6) - Quattro Models Only
    • 2003 - 2005 Audi S4 (B6)

Wow, we didn't expect these to be quite so popular! We're almost sold out of the ones we made for our initial run, but will continue to honor the introductory price for a few more days.

If you see a note saying they're out of stock, it should only be about two weeks for us to machine more, get them anodized, and kit them up. We still have about 10 left.

Thank you for all of the orders!

We are sold out of the first run, and expect to have more back in stock in approximately 2 weeks. I will be leaving the introductory price active through the end of the day today.

If you want to save $10 and don't mind waiting for the second run to come of our machines and go out to anodizing, make sure to order before the end of the day today!

Anyone gotten the install finished up yet and have a review?

New parts arrived in just a few days

finally got a chance to install them

backed the car up on my Rhinos, braced rear diff with floor jack, 18mm box end wrench and shallow socket for the carrier bolt/nut, found it much easier to get to this by removing the axle heat shields (H5 or H6 torq bit idr) and had to drop my aftermarket RSB 13mm and should have dropped my exhaust for some more room...

but got it all done and put back together

    front side (nut)

I've got a local show to go to tomorrow, so ill update on the feel or drive...
but being that the carrier is attached to the rear sub-frame on a 3 point surface and can swivel with just one of those points loose (these were super tight fit), i cant help but think it will really tighten things up back there

Thank you for the install tips! The exhaust can definitely get in the way on V8 cars.

Looking forward to hearing your impressions.

Installation with the instructions on 034's product page were easy to follow; and I would agree with the above poster. However, I did not remove the rear sway bar brackets and axle heat shields. I used standard and mid depth sockets with a 1-1/2" extension; a deep socket with no extension; long and extra long 3/8" ratchets; as well as a box end. Clearances were slightly different on each side with the exhaust and RSB installed, which is why I used different depth sockets. Either method to install these would probably take the same amount of time.....where I wasted time wrestling to make something work, a part could have been removed to gain more room to work.

The drivetrain mounts I have installed are 034 motorsport mounts, 034 snub mount, 034 street density trans mount and Apikol street rear diff mount. I generally noted cleaner shifting during easy driving, and the same for hard shifting at WOT....my car is a manual. As advertised there is no NVH. Bushings and mounts are mods that make a car easy and fun to drive hard. As cheap as these are buy them, install them and beat it up.

Thank you for the orders! The second batch of these should be ready to ship next week. We appreciate your patience while we're getting caught up on production!

On a related note, I have enabled USPS shipping options to Canada, and our DHL shipping module has been updated, so there are a few more international shipping options available.

I have a stock diff mount in my car, and the difference with these is noticeable! My car actually got to be the first guinea pig for these.

Anyone else struggle and fail to get these installed?

I couldn't find a way to get the supplied washers on over the inserts without removing the nut on the otherside...but once I remove the nut, there is no way I can get it back on once the new washer is installed, there simply isn't enough threading poking out anymore...any pointers? Are people managing to slip the new washer on without removing the front nut? If so, how? If others are removing the nut, how on earth are you getting it back on?? I gave up for the night, hoping to find some pointers or I'll just give up and take it somewhere...

It sounds like the insert needs to be pushed in further. You can use a pry bar on the bolt head to push it through, then thread the nut on over the bolt on the other side. Hope that helps!

    I installed mine yesterday.

Make sure that the main portion of the inserts go into the bushings aligned correctly. It felt like I was pushing in a torque converter with the insert stepping into place. Then put the supplied washer over the insert and run the bolt in with a ratchet. It was really easy but I see how it could be frustrating if you don't have the main portion of the insert aligned correctly.

Getting ready to do this in the next coupla days. Would a little silicone lube to help slide it into place a little easier be advisable, or at cross purpose?

They advise lube in the instructions. I'm going to try doing that as well. I'm wondering if mine isn't a little tighter in clearance between the JHM LSD & Apikol rear diff mount, I can't even get the bolt to poke through enough to thread the nut even if I skip the washer on the nut side...either that or mine just totally isn't settling into place correctly...

I used anti - seize as lube to make things easier.

My car has the red Apikol rear diff mount too and it wasn't attached when I installed these inserts.

A rear diff LSD from JHM or Wavetrac would not affect installing these inserts.

Alright, well one more shot with lube and a bigger hammer tonight, if not I'm going to have a shop do it

yeah, i spayed mine with silicon lube and still had to tap them in with a bar and mallet... like Jimmy said, make sure they are in the correct orientation... the original pics looked like the slot of the washer went vertical, but everyone ive seen installed it will be in the horizontal position...

i also left the (original) washers off of the backside/nut... couldnt get enough threads to start it, that is up against solid metal anyways and not going to come loose

The installation instructions identify that the key is to be horizontally positioned, like Tarl has photographed. Some additional notes of my install: 1. I removed the forward nut/washer and pulled the bolt out as much as possible while placing the insert over the bolt; 2. I used NovaGuard silicone lube and pressed the insert in with my fingers as much as I could, which was not a whole lot, then positioned the keyed insert washer. This took a few attempts each side because the insert washer would fall out of position; 3. With the insert and washer positioned I used a small pry bar to press-in the bolt/washer/insert enough and to hold them while placing the forward washer and begin threading the nut on....two maybe three threads was all that I could do; 4. The last step was just to torque everything down, which pressed the insert into the bushing.

There are a couple of little steps you learn by doing, but something that is definitely a DIY.

Got them installed today! Lube and a pry bar was the trick, I simply couldn't push in the carrier mounts far enough using my fingers to thread the nut. First impression (more to come of course) is wow this is worth every penny and then some - car feels much smoother when shifting and under load, can't wait to drive around more but it's a very noticeable difference for such a small and cheap part - great job 034!

Just finished mine. Note to Cabriolet owners there's a mount tower right in the way on either side adding a degree of more difficulty. Tough to see in there and get good angles on the bolts. There's a lot of tool threading.

    Happy to hear they're in!

Unfortunately, no. The car is still up on jackstands as I am doing downpipe work. I am excited though given previous accounts!

Finally got to drive the car for real today. I was able to enjoy driving in beautiful nightime top down weather as well as all the goodies ive been installing, including these carrier mount inserts. Definite cleaner shifts that add confidence to your driving. As has been said each time you modify these mounts and bushings that 034 seems to specialize in, just adds more fun to your ride!

Any more reviews coming in? We've seen a lot of great feedback coming in through the surveys we sent out, but it would be great to hear some more impressions from owners.

Happy Friday! Just helped one of the guys here install a set of these in his car last night. A pry bar and some silicone lubricant makes the job a breeze! I think it took us longer to rack the car than it did to install the inserts.

Bump! These are the perfect upgrade to go along with your Apikol Rear Differential Mount!

While the Apikol mount replaces the front-most mount for the rear differential (circled in red below), the 034Motorsport Rear Differential Carrier Inserts install into the two rear-most mounts for the rear differential carrier (circled in blue below), to prevent twisting of the rear differential housing under load, between shifts, and during launches.
