Battery Replacement

2000 B5 S4

how many of you have replaced the battery for another brand and why did you get that specific one.
i'm looking for an Optima Red top but i've been told it won't fit.
Any suggestions?

Get an Interstate battery, they are the best out there.

Interstate produces many of the "OEM's" Batteries ;) Just a different sticker kit for the specific manufacturer!

What did you end up getting? And did you do the install yourself?

I need a replacement battery for my A6 but came across some posts about "reprogramming being required to recognize devices"... sounds too complicated and overkill to simply replace a battery!

Any feedback would be awesome!

What year/generation A6? We're happy to help if you don't mind popping into NJ (we have a location in Clifton - ~15 minutes from NYC)

I run an optima red top in my b5 a4. Same install and you just need to figure your own way to mount it. I did. And if going with optima, you want a yellow top for your location. But truthfully, optima is trash ever since they started manufacturing in Mexico. Go with something different. I'm currently on my third one under warranty. When this one kicks the bucket, not sure what I'll run next.

I've had Yellow tops on my Maxima and same disappointment... Surprised how they didnt last as expected.

Thanks for the feedback on the installation... I suspect on the A6 should be an easy swap as well.

I ended up going with a Optima Red top. Easy to drop in I just tweaked the mounting bolt location. Yes disappointing on their durability but I noticed when you get them they have a built date in them and most stores that have them are usually a year old sitting on their shelves.
