    Hey Reyoasian

I also came from an 07 IS, and im excited about the prospects of tuning this vehicle since the last one left alot to be desired on the modding front.

Youll find that there are not too many guys running coils on here, most have opted for springs (mainly due to alot of folks getting the Mag Ride option) . This is one thing to consider, if ur definately interested in coils, dont spec the Magnetic ride option.
I bit the bullet and bought a set of Bilstein B14 coilovers. Will report back once the car and parts arrive. some guys are running KW v3s, ur can PM them if they dont respond.

Exhausts, tons of options as you said, ill let others chime in.

And one final thing, as ModdedEuros suggested, you can get a piggyback/ tuning Box. These are prob the best solution for warranty issues. For the tuning box naysayers out there i would like to state the fact that both MTM and ABT offer tuning boxes should be evident enough that the piggybacks have come along way. And the fastest S3 ive come across was running a DTUK tuning box.

    happy hunting

STs won't rust like crazy. I have sold tons of them over the past 6 years in Canada, New England and the rust belt with no issues.

The IS was my first car and I have no background or experience with tuning.
Not sure if this is something that's safe? I assume it's just tricking the computer to make the turbo work harder, and burn more fuel?
Theoretically, that's the biggest question for a tuning box. MTM/ABT come in at hefty price, in ABT's case because of a limited warranty they provide. The fact that MTM opted to use a tuning box for this car made me a little more comfortable with the idea. The tuning boxes that I've seen provide some more modest power increases compared to the APR (EU release) and REVO flashes, so that might be how they stay on the safe side. As ndk pointed out, they are still posting some impressive results.

Because the tuning box routes around some of the vehicles safety mechanisms (ex. limp mode), I think it comes down to trust in the vendor. Obviously companies like MTM and ABT will stand behind their product - but I'm still new to names like DTUK. I spent a lot of time researching the DTUK, and the UK guys have been testing the crap out of it for quite some time with no issues. I spoke with Andrew from DTUK over the last week and I finally opted to pick one up - got it for 365GBP. Came out to $545 USD.

I might put 1k down before I install.

The STs are made in Germany by KW and are the same as KW V1s except they are galvanized instead of stainless and have a 5 year warranty instead of lifetime. The ST XTA coils offer both dampning adjustment and camber adjustable top mounts.

    I like stiff suspension..
The ST-X coils are the same as the KW V1s and the XTA would be the same as the dampning adjustable V2s with camber adjustable top mounts. It sounds like the XTAs may be more for you since you would be able to increase the stiffness of them.

    Torque arm inserts:

Under hard acceleration, your entire engine and transmission actually rotates due to compliance in the factory bushings. While the soft factory bushings do a good job of damping engine vibration, they can also create a rubbery, vague response in the vehicle's powertrain.

Also for exhaust the new Billy Boat systems have just launched

Damn! Still really expensive for a catback. Might just have to make my own.

I'd like to see some feedback about ride comfort with Bilstein on these cars.

Apparently the shocks and the springs are the same, only difference is damping adjustability on the shocks
Really comes down to the damping adjustability. If you think you may not adjust the damping, B14 would be the way to go.
