    Brake Service Labor

I was quoted $282 out the door by a reputable indy shop for labor cost only as I'm supplying everything.

    Oil and filter change
    front rotor and pad replacement
    rear pad replacement.

Sounds reasonable? I just had my brake fluid flushed 6K miles ago so I was informed that would not be necessary.

I think that sounds very fair, at least compared to labor rates in my area.

Sounds very good, I think a synthetic Oil change with Mann filter is around $90 (including the oil and filter). Are they turning the rear rotors for you as well?

Thanks for the feedback. Don't have the facilities for this work plus not allowed to perform car repairs in my association otherwise I would consider it. I do need to confirm about the rear rotors. They look in good shape still so once I drop off we'll discuss. Also going to have them rotate wheels while they're off.

That is a very fair price, sucks you can't do it on your own though. Although you would have to add in the cost of a vagcom cable to extract the rear caliper pistons.

If you're getting the front rotors replaced, replace the rears too. You don't put 30k on your tires and just replace the front right? No. But I would do it yourself, you'll save and you will get to know your car better so if you ever have an issue, you can fix it. If you don't have the time or knowledge, get a friend that can help and if not, the price they gave you is pretty good.
