Bad Gas Mileage

Hey guys, it's me once again with another problem. So ever since I changed my transmission (because the old one was bad), I've been getting very bad gas mileage. Before the transmission swap, I got around 24-26 mpg, but now I get roughly 14 mpg. Is it because of the transmission, or what else could it be? Thanks

Thank you for answering! I was about to ask on a different forum site, but I definitely agree with what you said. It is not perfectly smooth shifting: from 2 to 3rd it stays at 3000 RPM, then rises. I will make a video on youtube and post it on here so everyone can get a better sense of what I mean.
