If you went to Germany, what would you bring back?

Thinking something I need for the RS. Something that will fit in carry on luggage :)

My carbon engine covers are a little buggered up - was thinking about that, maybe.

    Are there any must-haves?

Sport steering wheel, maybe get the center console setup so you can have push start, carbon ceramic brakes!

Better yet buy a RS2 or B5 RS4 and fill that with parts for the B7 😉

Call me crazy - but I don't care for the euro wheel, if that's what you mean. The aluminum doesn't go great with the carbon, IMO. If I had aluminum trim, definitely.

Are there any other good deals to be had on FBSW over there that we cant get here?

You could do like the previous owner of my car did and ship the entire car over to Germany. While there, install some of the euro-spec seats.

Is that a suade headliner? I am a sucker for suade headliners, my BMW has one and it really makes the interior!

Yes. Suede headliner, pillars, and sun visors.

I was at a car show over the weekend and someone had a brand new Porsche GT3 that still had temporary plates. That car had a suede dash board as well. Looked amazing.

I had a race with one of those new RS6's here in the Uk last week on the motorway in my K04 S4. They are 4.0 V8 TT with 560bhp and 500lb/ft but are nearly two tonnes!

It was a blue/purple colour and looked and sounded amazing but it was neck and neck for a bit then he slowly kept nosing ahead gear by gear. Not saying I beat him butthe S4 gave him a scare and lets just say he wasn't a good sport!

They are amazing cars but with a few options boxes ticked they can reach about £120,000 over here which is well out of most peoples league!

I can't think of anything that you could bring back in your luggage that would be worth it; except maybe the steering wheel, which you've said you don't like.

Stuff isn't much cheaper over there (if at all), and I can't think of any rare parts that would be good for your B7.

I've brought back stuff for my RS4 over the years on multiple trips to Germany. Small stuff like RS4 keychains all the way up to tail lights (orange blinker), Audi Exclusive floor mats, and suede euro steering wheel - mats and steering wheel given to me by a friend at quattro GmbH in Neckarsulm. The mats were about a $500 option on european cars.

(this steering wheel is identical to mine, however picture is not of my RS4)

I'll save you a bunch of money by switching to B6 A/S4 center console, which is identical to euro B7 RS4. All you have to buy is OEM start button kit, iirc ~$200 and it's plug and play

To be honest, they are in my car but under rubber all-weather mats. That way they don't get dirty, but I can pull out the rubber mats for display if I need to. :)

If you're going to Neckarsulm you can do the R8 tour - it's very cool and well worth it. Stuttgart is not very far from Neckarsulm, so you could do the 911 factory tour and the R8 tour in the same day (I've done this).

They also do tours at the Ingolstadt factory, and the Audi Museum is there. A lot of what you are able to do depends on where in Germany you're going to be. I like to fly into Frankfurt, then you can go one direction to the Nurburgring or go South to Neckarsulm and Stuttgart. Ingolstadt is closer to Munich, and BMW World is in Munich....
