I decided to drill a new hole in the bracket (as described in the ECS instructions). In the end, I like this method much better than breaking the sleeve then having to add something to prevent squeaking. It takes a bit of fiddling but it works perfect with no issues.
Here's a picture of the finished install (Apikol brackets and SS lines, Adam's B7 S4 rotors, Posi-Quiet Ceramic pads, USP inner SS lines):
Install notes if you decide to drill the bracket:
- You will need a new bolt for the bracket (m6x1.0 IIRC). I got some stainless steel ones from Lowes.
- You will also need to clearance the bolt to the rotating bracket interface. As the e-brake bracket rotates, it squeezes and gets closer to the bolt. I ended up grinding off 1mm from the bolt head and beveled another 2mm from the rotating bracket.
- If you are installing new rotors and pads, you will need to rotate the piston all the way in after you finish the e-brake work in order to reinstall the caliper.
