Talking How to or DYI DV relocation for 2.0 TFSI

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I've been doing a lot of research and found threads on DV relocation for 1.8t and other 2.0t but nothing specific for our 2.0tfsi. So basically, i was wondering has anyone ever done this for our engines and if so what specifically is needed and how/dyi to do it all. Ive also check for companies to see if there is a kit of some sort but did not see anything and if i did it was other 2.0t VW cars. just little confused about all this, can you guys point or help please, thank you in advanced. all this is new to me as this is my first Audi/ european car.

any purpose behind relocation? i think where sits is pretty easy to access from the top if you remove the airbox so i wouldnt worry about the kit.

So our DVs don't sit down low in a heated area like the 1.8t? as stated I'm not sure as i have not looked yet, but i thought relocating was to put it in a cooler area to ventilate and have quicker throttle response

Its really a non issue on the TSFI. The stock part is reliable and can handle substantial horsepower gains. It sits on the turbo compressor housing and dumps the air from the area just after compressor to just before it. Its also activated by a electrical solenoid vs vacuum pressure. Its response time is very fast.

That said is true 100 percent. Only question my stockk Dv would break in to pieces 2 of them so I installed forge any advice on that.

i guess it's not if the stock or aftermarket DV can handle the power, but more of the air going in from stick location is good or bad vs a relocation area to a more cooler area in the engine bay and make it better for throttle response.

The kits I have seen are from the tight engine compartments of the A3 and GTI. So there may have been some heat issues. The DV is really only active when the throttle body slams shut like between shifts. It opens and loops air back around the compressor. So it would gain some heat from compressing again but its also mixing with cool air coming in, and still going to go thru the intercooler. The 1.8 also had the DV in a different location. The stock design being right at the compressor housing is in the highest pressure zone and also in the place to best control compressor surge. The relocation kits moved the DV from just after the turbo to just before the throttle body. It bleeds off air that has already passed thru the intercooler, back to before the compressor. A vacuum operated DV located that close to the throttle body had advantages of a short vacuum line that likely helped throttle response more than the air being cooled. The money spent just to cool the DV air would be way better spent on a better intercooler.

If you want a better DV, then get a Go Fast Bits DV, it should offer somewhat improved response. With all the attention these cars get, all the engineers from APR, Unitronic Revo, StasiS, GIAC, AWE, Eurocode, 034 Motorsports, IE Engineering, GFB, CTS Turbo, plus mechanics, other engineers, garage tinkerers & race engineers...if there was a reason to move the DV with a stock turbo, it would have been found by now.
