    Going Stage 3

Im sure this has been asked before but I just picked up Frankenturbo's kit and wondering beside timing belt, water pump, thermostat what others would recommend doing while the motor is out. What have people been running for a clutch?

I already have 550cc injectors, JHM front mount intercoolers, Downpipes, full exhaust, and ARD bi pipes. Any input would be appreciated.

I need to order a new one. When I bought the car a few years ago it had a shitty fake rs4 bumper on it and I found someone local to trade straight across. The plate came like this.

My homey and I have been running the JHM stage 4 with aluminum flywheel, mine is feramic his is the other one. No problems, a little bit of chatter but it's a lightweight aluminum flywheel and is to be expected. The weather has been shit so haven't launched the car yet but I like it.

I'd replace the wastegate actuator lines too. They stuck to replace with the engine in.
You might be an S4 owner when......
You spend more time pulling you engine out than driving your car.

Only replace the 02 sensors if you have codes for them. No reason to replace non bad sensors. I would highly recommend upgraded mounts. I put the 034 ones in mine. I didn't do them when i had my engine out and paid the price when i went stage 3. I tore mine apart over time. When you have the engine out just do a once over on it and check for leaks and stuff. If stuff is leaking then replace it. I went with the RS4 OEM clutch upgrade and used stock flywheel and had 0 issues with it. i couldn't really tell increased pedal effort. Replace the oil feed lines to the turbo. If you haven't done down pipes yet. I would replace them or atleast gut the cats out. Thats what i did with mine I just gutted them. I wouldn't replace any of the sensors if they are not bad or don't have codes for them. Kind of a waste if you ask me. If you don't have a snub mount get a urethane one. Replace all the coolant don't reuse. Unless you just replaced it recently. Check all the coolant lines for leaks or seepage. Check all your vacuum lines and pvc lines.

And clean the engine and trans off as much as you can since you have it out. Helps for smells and checking for leaks down the road

    Shifter: Really like my JHM
Vac lines, spider hoses, PCV etc: replace or upgrade (DIY replacing plastic corrugated with rubber lines).
Suspension bushings (swaybar bushings if not upgrading the swaybar, C link, upper, lower, tie rods).
For some reason, my power steering lines are rusty (not seen on other; mine is special case I think).
Clutch: REALLY like steel clutch slave cylinder with REAL threaded braided flex line (vs. plastic slave and 'pop in' hard line (that I had leaking, and popping out on a few 2.7T).
Visco fan delete/electric fan conversion (probably done already since FMIC requires pusher fan delete?)
01 Allroad Tiptronic, TCU tune, mild stg 3 (350 HP) tune (stock injectors) KraftwerkTurbo TM1. Lower, Wider. Custom tip vent pod with Podi
02 Allroad 6 spd, Kraftwerk Turbo TM6, 750cc, 3" MAF, piggy, FMIC, CM stg 5 (hate). 30 psi at 3600 rpm. Needs stronger rods (coming).

Not entirely true as old lazy sensors may not set faults but are not performing at their peak and therefore the car is not running optimally. Depending on the mileage they are a good idea to replace although not a necessity with the motor out. O2 sensors are easy

Has anyone a photo showing how the 'drop in' kit looks like? Is someone using it on a B6 1.8T or C5 2.7T or B5 2.7T with the Walbro 450?

You can get it much cheaper elsewhere, this is the one Daz recommended. As for the kit part of it that allows the pump to be 'drop in', all you need is to get a few fuel resistant o-rings (will look up the size later) and fit them around the pump so it fits snugly in the basket.

I'm currently in the middle of my srm rs6 stage 3+ build. I'll post the stuff I replaced a little later on tonight as I'm currently at work. I also decided to do rods, so some gaskets you won't even have to worry about. I did most of the gaskets/seals as a pre-cautionary measure. Engine and trans were out, so why not? All the parts add up quickly, which sucks but it should be worth it at the end I'm hoping!

Adapting the diameter was always an issue, but get a STRAINER (filter, sock) that fits the pump AND fits the basket/space has been causing big trouble in the past (C5 2.7T for example).

Mehh I don't know with the ecm calibration but i know newer cars can deff detect if you have lazy O2 sensors. So back to the point if its good its good or if its bad its bad. But the sensors are easy to do in the car too if you have the right tools is key. I just don't know if 500 is worth replacing O2 sensors that may or may not be lazy or slow or whatever. If it was me i wouldn't replace them. You can use that money elsewhere.
