    Updated tuning information?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have been doing a bit of reading here and across other Audi messageboards and I am having a hard time getting a concrete answer on tuning. I am looking at upgrading my 2013

I see that APR seems to have bad reviews, and then other people say they are dynamite, as well as all the others(REVO, GiAC).

    Here is my issue:
I am located in central kansas so I have limited options for where I can go.

Wichita has a APR dealer who would do a stage 2(pulley, and tune) for $2500 - 2 hours away

Denver is the closest REVO dealer(their stage 1+ is the same as APR's stage 2 I assume) and then I think I need the S-Tronic tune as well. I've not heard back from the closest dealer yet but I am assuming cost will be comparable - 5 hours away

I've not seen any recent updates here on peoples tunes so was just throwing this out there to see if anyone had any updated info on their tunes, problems, etc.

You'll get all sorts of opinions on who's best. Fortunately for me, there are enough shops nearby where I have easy access to GIAC, APR, REVO, Unitronic or EPL. Me, I'd go GIAC - they offer a reliable, safe tune that produces excellent power (the top 1/4 mile s4 times all run GIAC). APR would be second on my list - but thanks to their latest shenanigans - they're on my ***t list - don't care how good their tune is.

Unitronic and EPL are newcomers to the S4 so I'm still waiting to see how their tunes play out.

Who has less problems being reported? I'm going for reliability first then power. Looking to upgrade the pulley and add the corresponding tune.

APR is a directport flash and the APR dealer will keep your stock original image to re-flash if necessary.

Isn't EPL the cheapest with similar power gains and can't you flash theirs back and forth from stock in your own home with a dongle?

Like the other person said - You'll get a lot of opinions in here. When I was shopping for the tune it was in this sequence: 1. Reliability; 2. Access to the dealer; 3. Price; 4. Power(essentially all these tunes are very similar in terms of producing the power). Best of luck in choosing the right one for you.

Sorry for the late response but thank you for the opinions guys! I may go APR simply because of the accessibility. I would much rather drive 2 hours to Eurotec than 5+ to the Revo dealer in Denver. From what I am seeing it's more personal preference than anything. I am not too terribly concerned about having the absolute fastest 1/4 mile time..just a little more pep would be plenty for me.

You can also just flash from home with EPL. Not a single bad experience on the forum, and they are getting a lot of traction as of late.
