Hey guys , new to the forum. I have had tons of cars over the years currently have a 14' stingray vette 7mt. getting blasted over here in the tri-state this winter i am strongly considering ordering a s4 in the summer to daily for the winter.

I am big on doing research on things before I buy them so thats why I signed up now to poke around.

One of my questions is : how long is the process from order to delivery ? (my vettes only took 8 weeks) had an e92 m3 take almost 6 months :(

The way I want the car is :

prestige
Ibis white
Red interior
6MT trans
the 19" wheels

question on the sport diff? what does it do differently ? there was no description on the website.

Part way through the video the sport diff is explained. You won't get the crown center diff unless you go with the S-Tronic transmission.

lol yeah it sucks...3 months is about right. white or any other colors on the website should take about 3 months. dealers usually can track some that are already incoming to other dealers that's similar to your configuration and can offer you to get one of those first instead of waiting for your vehicle. if you order exclusive colors that's not listed on their website will take 6-8 months.

you may be able to but then you have to wait for it to get to the states after you drive it which I think takes about a month. it would be a tease lol but that experience would be awesome though.

it really depends. ..I think the A4 will be announced first later this year so you probably won't see the B9 S4 until late 2016 at the earliest.
The only things I wished the 2015 B8.5 had are fold in mirrors, HUD, top view camera and 4G LTE connectivity. Other than that I am content lol

I have always been a fan of power fold in mirrors... HUD I can do without I ordered my stingray without it, as long as I have a reverse camera im good. Looking forward to this next toy that I can actually drive in the winter ! lol was considering a m5 before this but after todays snow storm i was like F this lol I need AWD , but fun and stick. which is how I ended up on the audi website !

The sport diff basically gives more power to the outside rear wheel so it acts more like a rwd car (ie. less shitty understeer). I think it is really worth it, if nothing else than for higher resale value. I still am not sure if the car is worse in the the snow because of it though. Congrats on the Vette. Those are the shit!

I will say 3-4 months of course this depends if no vehicles are already build with your specs or nothing can be alter within the line. My order failed on both I mentioned therefore I had to wait my turn on the line. Placed order Dec 6, 2014 car didn't get release for production till Jan 29, 2015 so you go figure. Vehicle is already inbound to the usa with an ETA to arrive in U.S. soil 3/10 been tracking the vessel lol. Forgot to mention also Ibis white/Magma Interior

AWD, fun and stick is exactly this car! I had a 2010 until last fall, had the itch and traded it in. That lasted 3 months, and I placed an order for a 2015 a few weeks ago. They didn't have an allocation when I ordered, but got one shortly after. I have a build date of week 13, with an ETA in May.
I got mine for 6% off MSRP, plus an Audi loyalty discount of $1500. There probably are better deals to be had, but this is local, worth it to me to not have to deal with out of town dealers.

Also traded my 13' and just ordered a 15' last week. Dealer said car will be unloaded in Halifax week of April 13 and at dealer 10 days later. I'm in Montreal so you would probably be the next stop after Halifax.

I just purchased a '15. Love everything about car. Only strange thing is steering. I had a VW Golf R before with electric steering and didn't have the strange tracking issues that this car has, however, could be tires, track width, etc... other than this one pretty small issue, car is very solid, looks great. Actually I find it timeless in its lines. Mine is a 6MT, love it. I like selecting my own gears. Car is great as is, but as always, probably will do some "tuning". Not sure who yet.... I would do a search online, and see if anyone has IBIS White. Would be a great road trip.

I was going to do that but got a deal i couldn't pass up. Sadly when i got to europe in 2 months no audi tour ohwell next time. But it takes about 2 months from the time you drop it off. But your paying for it when you take delivery, so when your waiting for it to come to your dealer back state side your having to pay for it. I guess the only knock on it. But you do get 5K off whatever negotiated price you make with your dealer.

But back to op. The only thing i would add thats a must is the sports diff. Thats a must if you ever drive sporty sometimes. But if not ever then you don't need it. You have all the other options you need with the prestige package. Well if you think about logistics about getting the car over here 1 1/2 - 2 months is not that big of deal for how far it has to come to get here. Yes it could be here in a day after if rolls off the line but not in a real word.

Don't look back and make the buy you will never be unhappy with this car its almost impossible.

Im going to say maybe early april. I believe change over happens late april early may for the new model. My current S4 has a build date of 4/14 and the one 15 A4 loaner i had was 5/14. The new model gets released around beginning of July. If you read the "just ordered 15 S4" thread guys were saying they were taking delivery around the 4th of july.

Agree on the HUD (and mirrors), my 328 touring came with HUD in the tech package, it doesn't sound like a big deal but man I love that thing. Not just the speed like old HUDs, it does the navigation prompts, and displays radio stations for selection.

I don't care about top view, but would like to see heated steering wheels make their way into these cars. LOL

The 18s come with all seasons, not exactly great in real snow. I would get the 19s and then order 18s with SNOW tires on them at the same time. Car looks better with 19s IMHO, so no point to get 18s with tires you don't need and then buy 19s and a third set of tires.

That's what happened last year. If you wait till june you will likely be ordering a 2016.

FYI the order guide came out around mid-march last year. You should check it out because the configurations, colors, wheels etc. change between years, which may affect your desire for a 2015 vs. a 2016. Lots of people were happy Sepang Blue was available for 2015; I was disappointed Estoril was dropped.

so I built the car out the way I want it its like 58,xxx plus tax... shooting for 3k off MSRP. my boy just reached out to his friend at Audi to see when the build cutoff is and depending on that date I will get in touch with him.

Did you ask your friend at Audi? The 16 is likely a B8.5 carryover as the B9 won't be on sale until next year.

thats what I am praying lol that would make this whole 'ordeal' go away. He said teh cutoff is end of the month. He is not 100% sure about the 16' yet except that the 16 MY is available for order in 2-3 months. Waiting for a response from the 2nd email.

I really just don't need the car before September I got the new stingray in my garage waiting to be driven with the top off all spring/summer/fall !

IMO no. Why buy new anyway? You can find plenty of 2013- even 2014's with the $20-25k depreciation hit already taken. Unless that is you're okay with paying that cost for getting exactly what you want. Although I've seen plenty like what you describe minus the red inside.

Im pretty picky when it comes to cars... prefer new so i can option it exactly how I want it. Most of the pre-owned I saw were automatic and most were black. I also get much better interest rate on new from my CU . 1.89 for 72 months

If looking to go used, I doubt you will find 13's or 14's for $33k-$38k (which would be $20-25k depreciation someone thought in a previous response) unless they are high mileage, no optioned cars, or been in an accident.

I see them for 45-50 used maybe 42-44. Im just saying at least 3k off possibly more but I am a fair person I just dont like paying MSRP. but once again this is a moot point if they dont continue the b8.5 thru 16' then im not getting it.
