The first run was finished on one of our Haas Vertical Mills earlier this week, and just came back from anodizing yesterday afternoon! They're going through final QC and being kitted up by our Assembly & Manufacturing Technicians sometime today.

Hey Guys. I took delivery of my 2016 C7 S6 about 2 weeks ago. I currently have 1,500 miles on the car. I wanted to drive it a bit to get a feel for the transmission shifting before I installed my 034 Motorsport Transmission Mount Insert.

Today I installed it. Using just ramps in my garage. Removing the plastic/felt under car belly pan was by far the most time consuming and most difficult part of this mod. I'm not saying the belly pan is difficult to remove I'm just saying installing this upgrade is extremely easy.

When you look at what is being replaced I was not that convinced this would have that big on an impact. The stock part looks decent. The part is so small compared to the transmission housing.

Don't let this fool you.

Not sure if others who own the refresh C7 have noticed a slight jerky-ness on the 1-2 shift but I have. My car would do this on light throttle acceleration. This was what I was hoping this insert would fix.

Walla. It's completely gone. I am a true fan of this very simple enhancement to the car. It's inexpensive. It's completely stealth. It works. It enhances the drive experience. I just don't know why Audi would not have something like this in place from the factory. But who cares. Mine is installed and I'm happy.

The reality is that factory Audi/Volkswagen air intakes on newer vehicles set the bar quite high in terms of fitment and performance. The days of merely replacing the factory airbox with some piping and a generic cone filter and seeing performance improvements are long gone - in fact, many so-called "cold air" intakes are detrimental to performance under actual driving conditions.

While there is often room left to improve on the factory design, it requires a thorough analysis of the factory components, and an OEM+ engineering mindset.

We've done full Drivetrain Mount Insert Package installs on three or four local C7/C7.5 Audi RS7s, and all of the customers have been very pleased. The package makes throttle changes translate to acceleration much more directly, and make the ZF transmission's shifts even crisper. If anything, the RS7 needs these the most, since it uses the same mounts as the A7/S7, but is a torque monster.

Here's a little flashback to our first year at the 25 Hours of Thunderhill, which is currently my desktop background.

We've done many of these installs both before and after TCU upgrades, and the Transmission Mount Insert really complements the tuned S-Tronic transmission. While the software can increase shift speeds and optimize shift points, it can't do anything about the physical slop/movement in the factory transmission mount.

If anything, the insert is even more beneficial with a TCU tune and engine modifications, as there is more drivetrain movement with added power and faster shifts.
