Drove down to 034 today and picked one up. Will put it on Thursday when she goes up on the rack to the KW coilovers and new MPSS. The guys offered to install it for me, and if I had had 30 extra minutes, I would've taken them up on it. But I was on a tight clock today.

Thank you for all of the orders! We're currently out of stock on these, but will be machining more later in the week to go out to anodizing. They should be ready to ship again in approximately 2 weeks.

    Hi 034Motorsport,
can you paint the mount black and not engrave your logo on it? The mount does a great job but I don't like the fact that it is immediately detectable by the dealer. They void powertrain warranties a lot recently even for minor mods, so I would prefer if the mount was less noticeable.
I can paint the mount myself but it is better if it was ready out of the box. As for the logo, it can be on the back side if you really need it to be there.

I doubt they'll re-tool and add another layer of cost for the small percentage that want/need the mount to appear OEM (unless you just want a one-off piece).

Either fill/paint the part yourself, or instead of trying to "hide" an aftermarket piece from your dealer just buy a set of ramps and a 10mm triple square bit to remove/install yourself. It shouldn't take more than 5-10 minutes to swap before you go to the dealership...

If a dealership TD1's you for this insert it's time to go find a new dealer.

There are dealers in the B8/B8.5 world using this product to address shifting complaints on those cars. Those dealers are using this item (the one for the B8's) as the solution.

Personally I would not worry about getting TD1'd for this item.

Unfortunately we aren't able to offer this without a logo. All of the programming on our machines was done with the logos and part numbers.

You should be able to paint (or anodize over) the existing finish.

Click on the link in the first page, I am sure that they do international shipping, I think they already sent several to Singapore or Thailand.

Installed it today, It replaces this clunky thing.

The thing that took me the longest was figuring out where under the car it actually went. After 3-4 minutes with a flash light I spotted it under the lip of the panel. Car shifts smoother in every situation, and I drove it all different ways this afternoon and there is an unquestionable difference.

One odd thing that happened though, in the time that I was playing with the car to try to feel the fast/smooth shift at 4/5 throttle. I put it into manual and into first ~3000 rpm, when I got on the gas in first and short shift ~4800 - 5300 rpm I got a car shuddering CLUNK and then it hooked up. It didn't do it in D or S, or any other manual gear at 3/4 to WOT (or anywhere else). and I was only able to make it happen two or three times. Sometimes though it shifted as smooth as all of the other modes and gears. Going to try to replicate it again when I have time, and if I can do it consistently, I will swap back to the stock piece, see if it still does it... (Im sure it will, I rarely drive in anger in manual so I don't know if it was doing it before today, but I can't imagine this piece had anything to do with it. I can't remember the last time I really got on it in manual so who knows how long it's been doing it or waiting to..) If it does, I will take it on into the stealership and have them take a look.

    Hi Keaney,
send a mail to [email protected] (Lazlo)
Request a quote with flat international shipping.
Turns out shipping is fare less than the automatic price added in the web shop.
I ordered a few days ago, shipped to Norway.

Do you need ramps, or can you just find a slope and park in the "hump".
Alternative could be to jack up on one side, using a garage jack?

You don't need much room to install this part; lifting just the front driver's side of the car securely should do it.

Can doing this upgrade in any way void the warrenty on your warrenty? I know it can be a stretch but can they legally have some validity in doing so?

Short answer...no one but Audi knows the answer to your question.

The warranty booklet clearly states that any modification to the car can void the warranty. So there is such risk if the dealer detects the mod. That is more likely to happen if the transmission breaks and Audi tries to avoid paying for the huge repair cost. To be on the safe side you should remove the mount before every visit to the dealer.

I own a 2013 S4 which had issues with the electromechanical steering; a well known issue for many B8.5. Before Audi would approve the steering rack replacement (that costs $$$) they asked the dealer if ANY aftermarket parts are installed or if the car has been in an accident. The dealer called me to ask the same questions. An Audi representative also checked the car and approved the repair. I am sure they would make my life harder if they found any mods. I know another Audizine member that Audi is denying repairs for the steering issue because he has suspension parts.

Installed mine about a week ago. The main reason I wanted to try it is to hopefully make downshifts in sport mode more tolerable. 3 to 2 downshift was always bad/jerky even with GIAC ECU and transmission flash. I can't say there is any difference on that front after the install. Otherwise, there may be a slight improvement in regular drive mode.
But again, as someone pointed out a while ago, there is such variation in DSG behavior between different S6s that I should have been expecting this imrovement in downshifts.

I'm sure the car is worth a bit more waiting than the insert. Drive it around stock a bit first so you can enjoy the upgrade a bit more!

Did you ever applied the TSB 2035235/2? I think this applies for 13 and early 14 model. I just had my 2013 S7 done and it took the harsh/jerky shift away TOTALLY. I felt like it is a different car. More like a smooth driving automatic. Hope this helps if it applies to you.

For those who have TDI cars, I finally got mine installed. Not additional vibration or noise after install. I used to have a sloppy 1st-2nd shift in D when cold, that seems to be much more crisp. In S and M modes, shifts are lightning fast and just as sharp as ever. I'm not sure the mod made any noticeable difference outside of the cold shifting feel. Still worth it IMO, and a fun, easy one too.

FYI, for those that want to keep this part stealth...the old bracket fits on over the top of the billet part. It completely hides the part, so I doubt any service tech would ever know it's there unless he tries to remove the mount.

You should be able to get these through Awesome GTI in the UK, and MRC may be able to get them for you as well, although I don't believe they are stockists.

That's great to hear! Thank you for the TDI review.

Do u think since I have GIAC TCU and ECU flash and once this TSB is applied, presumably as another TCU update, I will loose my GIAC software? And if I flash it again with GIAC software afterwards it will invalidate the TSB update?

Generally speaking, a dealer TCU update would flash over an existing DSG tune/software. You may want to verify with GIAC, or just schedule an appointment with your GIAC dealer to get reflashed.
