Okay... Looks like I'll be the 1st to provide feedback. I'll start by saying the engineering behind this is fantastic. No placebo effect here, it is a noticeably different.

1st - Sport Mode Review
The up shifts are more precise and feel more sportier. The downshifts are seamless and you really cant feel it downshifting all the way from 6th to 2nd to a STOP. I would like to add I had a very rough downshift from 6th to 5th at 60 mph prior to this mod, prior to the tune, and prior to etc.... 2 trips to the dealer to investigate and nothing was found, so I have been dealing with it for a year now. Well guess what... IT'S GONE. I took the car up to triples on the speedo and let it dowshift on its own from 7th all the way to 2nd and each and every downshift was consistent and smooth.

2nd - Manual Mode Review
Up shifts are more accurate and precise. And it took a lot of the jerkiness away when downshifting even from 2nd to 1st. It is still present but not as much, but then again it is manual mode so some should be expected.

3rd - Drive Mode Review
Who cares!!!!!, I'm never in it

All in all, great product, great engineering, and great price. Now, I can't speak for the ZF, this review is for the DSG.

Oh as for the install. It took more time jacking the car up then actually installing the mount!!

Where I'm struggling is how Audi, with their first in class engineering approach, could overlook such low hanging fruit. I'm not knowledgeable enough to debate the pro and con of the mod, but I'd appreciate it if someone more qualified could offer whether there is a downside or risk to the mod.

I.e could there have been a reason why Audi chose not to reinforce there? Possibly they wanted flex to prevent breakage of a more expensive part? I've go no basis for saying that other than trying to imagine and describe a type of example

Again, seems like a great idea and I'm in once I understand if there are any risks.

The factory transmission mount insert was foremost designed for comfort. The mount design is made to limit vibration and noise transfer into the cabin on all engine/transmission combinations, some of which (Tiptronic/CVT 2.0T and TDI models) are very prone to vibration. The mount design was not changed for the higher performance models, even though they idle smoother and make much more power. Again, this was done in the name of comfort, which is the most important feature for most (non-enthusiast) luxury-sedan buyers.

For maximum performance, the transmission and engine could be solid-mounted to the chassis without any damping medium to speak of, but the ride quality would be unbearable.

Our mount limits the movement of the transmission slightly, while still letting the factory rubber mount function as intended to limit NVH transfer into the cabin. Loads/forces on the transmission's moving parts are controlled by the ECU and TCU, and not affected by this part. It is not detrimental to the longevity of the transmission/drivetrain in any way. In fact, some dealers have started stocking our B8 version of this upgrade the resolve DSG lurching/shifting complains from B8 S4/S5 3.0 TFSI owners.

TQ10 meaning triple square (guess I should have put TS10) . I found a triple square at the local store. But good observation.

I am dealing with one TOOL in particular at the moment.

I have a business where we install audio visual equipment, meaning I have to provide vans and tools to guys who don't care as much about them as I do, and when a guy uses a battery drill for a hammer etc. I get upset.
I also certainly meant noting bringing up the value of cars, just the ratio of cost to tools. Your review was very good, and I should not have been flippant. Im sorry if I offended.

I appreciate the apology and please accept mine in return. I'm in outside sales myself so I deal with all types of personalities, so no harm done.

If I don't have the right tool at the house I hate ordering them. But luckily I was able to get one in town. Didn't think they were as rare as they are. In the end I now have the right tool for the install and also picked up the triple square 12 for the steering wheel...

I've done about 80% of the mods myself to this car so this was the first time I've ran across a triple square tool.

Btw the bolt only needs (as instructed) 20Nm = roughly 14lbs. Of torque. Comes off very easily.

If this makes a discernible difference, might go for this along with the sway bars, end links and drive-train stabilizer from eurocode when available.

Finally had a chance to install mine this morning... First, like others reported it is a very quick/easy install (literally takes minutes to put on). I spent more time looking for a 1/2" to 3/8" adapter in my toolbox for my torque wrench.

First impression is that the mount insert makes the transmission feel more connected to the car/engine. I haven't had a chance to test during spirited driving yet, but the upshifts/downshift are much smoother. This was especially evident in Dynamic mode. I used to have fairly harsh downshifts in this mode, but the mount has mitigated it significantly (almost imperceptible).

Definitely a worthwhile mod, especially for the $!
