Thanks for the idea and input. It starts 99% of the time no problem while cold. I drove it to the grocery store to pick up milk (2 miles) over the weekend, parked it, finished in the store in around 5 minutes, came out and it wouldn't start. I went back into the grocery store to kill some time, came out, and it started on the 3rd or 4th try. Another time I drove it for about an hour, stopped for gas, and then couldn't start it up for 5 minutes after filling up. That was a few months ago. Since then it has gotten worse and the odds of having it successfully start after any amount of driving have gone down quite a bit.
I'll first try the CPS since it's only a $40 fix and most signs point to this, but I'll report back either way.

The fuel pressure should hold around 20psi for at least 1hr and them stay around 10psi after that. If it doesn't them your fuel pump return check valve is bad causing the pressure to bleed off and a hard start condition. If it's not that then prob crank sensor. A lot of the time there won't be any faults stored when the CPS fails.
