B8.5 rear valence for quad exhaust (non-sline)

Hello all,

There are some mixed threads floating around regarding rear valence options for our audis, but i wanted to make a thread strictly for the B8.5 non sline rear valence. As you may or may not know, the valence is different for the s-line vs. the non-sline.

The non-sline has had limited options from aftermarket companies probably due to initial demand for the R&D of the product. Now i know there are few options, AWE offers one. I inquired to an ebay seller about a valence they offer. They didn't have any test fits or confirmed pics of the product. They asked if i could test fit for them, I kindly accepted with a few stipulations that they happily met (most important, full refund if it doesn't fit).

I will update this thread for all you B8.5 non sline guys looking for another option. I will include pictures, and a full review. This could be a breakthrough option as this valence looks very OEM and is priced very well, teaser pic below:

I happen to be having this installed with my AWE system this Friday. I'll be able to update this post with my own personal review and pics this weekend.





UPDATE:

I went and had this installed on Friday.












I can give a little feedback on it after a few days now.

- It looks much better in person that it does on the AWE promo/marketing pics. It's very glossy and the CF weave is nice and uniform. No unevenness that I could find.

- Fit is very good, but there is an ever so slight gap on the passenger side which is only noticeable if you're exactly at eye level with it. Which will practically be never unless you're lying on the ground.

- The one negative thing I would say, is that this one is really thin - like laminated paper thin. It's a single CF weave formed into shape without the aid of a fiberglass or ABS plastic backing, so it's a little bit on the delicate/fragile side. Mine was actually cracked in transit and is being replaced. I would genuinely be concerned about having to remove it in the future for fear of breaking it into 100 pieces - but once it's attached, it's solid.

Besides that one negative aspect I'm genuinely happy with it and would recommend it, especially for $325.

I assume you are referencing the awe valence correct?

Nope talking about the valence the original poster is showing. I guess that we should call it sline style quad diffuser, I only know that mrcarcar is the one that makes along with a dual outlet variant. It was a tight fit on my b8, so unless there is a b8.5 version or the bumpers are the same between the generations then fitment will be questionable.

thanks, no worries, I just want to make sure people understand this thread is not for B8s Thanks for well wishes, if it doesnt fit (even slightly off) they already agreed that ill get full refund and return shipping covered as part of the picture deal. I wont back a product that doesnt work as designed.

quick update here, transaction is complete and awaiting shipping confirmation. They are as excited as I am to see if this will work for us b8.5 non sline folks. I've been talking with them about a possible deal for Audizine members if it does fit well, more info to come. Thanks!

This one is from eBay, but it's a manufacturer in California(from my understanding).

sorry guys, havent gotten there yet. the company is even asking every other day. they seem very excited to see how this works out.

I havent had a chance to get under the car over the past few weeks for one reason or another. Saturday morning looks like it will be the moment of truth. For all interested, please note that i dont have my quad exhaust yet, so it will be fitted with oe exhaust (single side dual exit). I want to make sure it fits before i have quad installed.

Darn! I'm talking to awe right now about purchasing the quad carbon fiber valance, and all the necessary hardware to convert my awe single side exhaust to the awe quad.. But I kinda like that valance better^^^^^

i have installed the valence. it looks great, very OEM+.

overall fitment: i give it a 9/10. on the left side near the exhaust the piece needs to be really forced in (extraordinarily forced). More than i feel it should. Overall the piece looks awesome. I will post pics tomorrow when its lighter out.

I like it! Very OEM-like. Do you need to paint it, or leave as is? Are you going to go with the stock S4 quads?

I can't recommend this valence, it doesn't fit 100%, probably 95%, one of the clips broke trying to pry it over to clip in....


Unfortunately our quad valence non sline options are severely limited, even more so if you don't want carbon fiber look

The s4 style one I picked up is very high quality!.. almost oem.. it's usually available on from an Amazon seller ..
