RS Style Grill ?

Hey Guys!
Looking to swap my grill to a RS mesh style for an S4 i picked up a couple a weeks ago ECS has them on sale for around $240
Hows the quality on these grills ? Is this what most popular ? What are my other options?

I got mine from ecs. Pretty happy with the quality and fit/finish of it.

Yea I'm looking at an ecs grille for my b8.5. The only thing holding me back is deciding all black or black with chrome edge.

That is stunning! Is that Monsoon Gray? Did you get the grill from ECS?
I'd avoid a front plate if you can.

Yes it's from ECS tuning. 2014 A4 sline sport package monsoon grey. The fit is perfect to me and the grill feels solid. Hopefully I wnt get pulled over here in CT for not having plates. I'll just wait till I get a warning before putting it on.

This. I've gotten pulled over once for no front plate and to have my tint checked, and got warnings for both. My tint was legal, and I put my front plate on the RHO, had a buddy who is an officer sign off, then took that front plate right back off. They usually don't bother with that here in WI, even though it is the law to have one. I was unlucky that day.

I see the ECS RS4 version has a silver (brushed aluminum look) surround, not chrome.. where can an RS4 grille be purchased that has a chrome surround that better matches the chrome on the car?

Can you post a pic of what the chicken wire behind the grill looks like in full sunlight? I'm debating adding the finer mesh on the grill itself to protect against rocks and debris and to also add a bit of strength to the grill, or putting it further back, closer to the crash bar.

CT was always a one plate state then when they switched over to the new plates they issued 2 .. majority of cops don't care.. however you have ball busters out there everywhere.. i've never had a front plate on any of my cars.. never had a problem

I am out of town for the rest of the week. I will try to remember to take a picture when I am back.

The wire mesh is actually steel reinforcement wire for concrete, it's used like rebar(sp?) Wire I believe. I found it at Lowe's by the concrete. It was about 9 dollars.

How did you cover the crash bar?
Are the rings easy to remove from stock grill or did you buy them?

I plastidipped the crash bar with 3 to 4 coats. I also added some glossifer to it but that might have been a mistake. From a distance the car looks good. But up close it has a lot of sand on it. Probably drove it too fast after I dipped it but again it's always remove able

Personally I don't like the rs4 girl without the supporting bumper with it. For my car I just blacked out the silver grill lines and I think it looks awesome.

Before, I had this, I thought the license plate holder can removable but turned out nope. stick with it for awhile until little accident happen.


Then I changed into this and made sure everything is correct :)). RS style honeycomb black chrome. I had it for $197. installed last month. Houston TX now doesn't require front license plate.
