AT&T and Audi to connect all 2016 cars with LTE

You can add your car to your Mobile Share data plan for $10/month. And if you have AT&T Digital Life, soon the car will be able to talk to your connected house to initiate various programs like controlling lights, alarm, etc..

Hopefully it won't be too difficult to upgrade the 13-15 cars hardware to the new equipment. The updated MMI is pretty much the biggest thing from the '16 that I wish my car had.

Yeah good luck with that....It's probably different wiring to the antenna for the 4G. Plus I wouldn't want to tear my dash apart to put a new MMI unit in. But to each their own...

I can confirm my order sheet did say ATT in the Audi Connect section. The mobile share data plan is a sweet deal.

the LTE bands of att and t-mobile i am pretty sure the same (I have verizon), the removal of the radio is npt hard at all, i don't think you will have to change out the center screen as long as the control unit i changed but we will find out soon enough, I am debating getting a 2016 or just doing the facelift (mmi, beam matrix, front bumper [grille], and rear tails) myself. Also some one told me a real sketch way to get an rs6 imported so i am pursuing that first.

Complete MMI updates have been done before; I suspect this will be feasible and possibly without having to dig up the dash. The buttons and overall layout will likely change on the center console, but assuming interior dimensions are unchanged, that might be as simple as replacing the current console setup with the new one. We shall see!

Our cars are 3G though...Not LTE bands. Also, I was under the impression that the screen was higher resolution and I don't think mobile chipset manufacturers program them for compatibility with lower resolution screens. Those are the issues I foresee, but I'll gladly be wrong.

Don't f*ck around with sneaking unfederalized vehicles into the states. They'll seize that sh*t faster than a tuned RS6 hits 60 mph

what do you think the chance is all of your movements are being tracked by the NSA now that you have in-vehicle cellular reception? are they also listening to all your in-car conversations etc etc...?
