Question New passenger seat has no airbag, car wants one.

Hi all. 1998 A4 2.4 Quattro right hand drive, passenger seat had side airbag but is knackered. Putting beautiful sports seats in and passenger one has no airbag. No wiring, never did.
So airbag lights on of course.
Have access through local friendly audi guy to VAG but he doesn't think he can disable it to tell car there is none.

Can he? If so how please?

OR I read here that I can put resistors in wires end. Ok, does this mean bridging the two side of plug with wires and resistor in middle? What resister will do it.
I THINK it is yellow plug for the airbag.
It hasn't bought on the seatbelt sign having no seat there so I assume it's happy as not getting told that anyone is sitting there in first place.

Appreciate your help if you can.

You're right that a resistor in the yellow plug will do it. A Google search brought me to this thread:

Insert that in the connector, clear the light, and see if that does the trick. If not, maybe try following this:

My father has often used automotive light bulbs to "trick" an airbag computer to keep the light off in the event of a missing bag. He would try a few different wattage bulbs until he found one that kept the light off. Tungsten bulb resistance is somewhat variable, so I would suggest sticking with resistors instead for best reliability.
