I did an oil change 1,000 miles ago everything was done properly. The other day I got an oil light but thought of it as no big deal because I know my car "burns" a little oil. When I checked it 3/4 of the oil was gone. I re filled it and I keep getting the oil sensor but my oil isn't depleting anymore than it did before. Is this something I should worry about? Thanks in advance.

    oil light

It's the oil level sensor that needs to be changed. Have you scanned for codes?

EDIT: Just to make sure what word does it say next to sensor on your DIS?

If 3/4 of your oil is gone after 1000 miles and it was filled, you have bigger issues than your oil level sensor light.
Never argue with an idiot, they'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

    Hi Mattkrim,

I'll help you out again :)

Blitz and WiLl are probably both correct.

The issue you are noticing is coming from this sensor...
    Easy fix: Here--> http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...cement-on-1-8T

Oil can be leaking/burning from this-->

While it may not be visibility leaking from under the car, if i remember correctly from your original thread(115+k miles), I bet your firewall and thermostat region under the IM is coated in oil...

My disclaimer is that, this may not be the cause of 3/4 low oil after 1k miles, its a good start... as these are items I have addressed in the past.

Are you trying to say it was down 3/4 on the dipstick, or that you drained your oil and measured it to determine that 3/4 of the total oil capacity had disappeared. This makes a difference. If you're actually burning roughly 3L of oil in 1000 miles you'd be pouring exhaust smoke.

No exhaust smoke. It was 3/4 The way gone on the dip stick. Other than this my car is running great. I just don't want it to turn into a real problem

OK, thanks for clarifying, that is saying two very different things.

    You're very welcome.
FWIW, I typically have a minor valve noise when I am that low.

Seems to me you are being very proactive and attentive with regards to your car. That alone means "real" problems will not have a chance to develop.
    GL!
