    Zeitronix ZT-3 wiring help

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey guys,

This might be something i'll need to email Zeitronix on however figured I would post here.

During a snow storm my ZT-3 harness got taken out, problem is now I don't have a wideband. The connector got ripped to shreds(it's the quick connector that comes off the 02 sensor to the harness to the ZT-3 box).

Coming out of the 02 sensor there are 5 wires, the harness side of the ZT-3 is 6. All wires match up, I believe it is black, red, yellow, white, blue; harness side has all those colors, but an extra green wire.

Will I need to order a new harness and 02? Wouldn't be such an issue but it seems like just to fix this mess to add the connector it will be over 200 bucks. Is there not a way I can hardwire this? I'd imagine one has to be a ground but which one is it?

Any help is always appreciated. I would love to had my wideband back.

You prob need a new sensor, there is a calibration resistor in that connector. Might be what the 6th wire is for.

Could prob get a repair connector for the zt3 side from audi. 04 a4 3.0 AVK should have them.
There are only 2 things needed to make an Audi work properly - Duct tape and WD40. If it moves and it shouldn't - Duct tape. If it doesn’t move and it should - WD40.

Both sides are ruined, the 02 side and harness side. It obliterated the connector beyond repair :(

Looking on their website, it looks like I can piece it together for around 120, but I would still rather see if I can't hardwire it somehow.

Prob wont hurt to try it and see what happens just for fun, but that resistor is in there for a reason.
Iirc it is some fancy laser trimmed contraption to zero them in.

If the zt3 will do a free air calibration you might get away with it.

    Oh boo.

I was hoping I could ground it, or maybe even connect into the harness somehow.

ZT does its own free air calibration. O2 sensor has laser trimmed resistor incorporated in the plug, it is factory calibrated this way and you can't splice old sensor to some new plug, it will be off.

Either way you need a new O2 sensor with its plug and then just a new connector for ZT side. That's the simplest to do.

That's what I figured, unfortunately I don't think I can get just the connector and will need a whole new harness. Not bad $39.00 for the harness and $79.00 for the 02
