I drive a 2011 Audi A4 and would like to upgrade the headlights. I bought the car used and it has the basic halogen headlights and I want to upgrade them in some way.

Any suggestions on what to do?

What are my options? Are there bulbs I can buy? Do I need to replace my whole light?

    Thanks in advance!

    This is what you need:

You have some options about which actual housings you go with, the ones I posted are the ones I ordered. They're the most reasonably priced European spec set, so they don't have the amber side marker. After you get all of the parts you'll need to have the car coded so that it knows it has HIDs rather than halogens. As others have mentioned there are a bunch of threads on this, but these parts are what you need to get started.

^^^Do that. Please don't put an HID kit in the stock halogen headlights

What projectblackout mentioned is the best way to go to get it done correctly and perfectly.
However, if the $ is an issue, you can put an aftermarket HID kit on stock headlamps.
It's not a recommended route but we do have a kit that has D2R rebased bulbs, so that it does not blind on coming traffic as bad as other regular aftermarket kits.

Thats interesting, I've never seen those before. I prefer the factory ecode look, but these ones are an interesting hybrid of the B8 and B8.5 style of HID.

If you're even a little DIY inclined, the below conversion is very easy to do. I've just reopened mine to go quad instead of dual projector. Bang for buck, it's probably your best option.

You can get the whole setup from the retrofitsource (projectors/ballasts/canbus cancellers/shrouds). I did mine and the results are great. Greatly improved visibility. In addition, when you open headlight you gain access to the DRLs that can be replaced with LED (P13W connectors)

TRS for the win! I redid some headlights a couple years back with one of their kits but hated their high beam solenoid setup. Maybe their newer stuff (and higher end) works better?

This route is definitely not for everyone as it requires a lot of careful, tedious work.

Yeah, the retrofit takes time, 1st headlight took 5+ hours, the 2d one I finished in 2 hours. Anyway, I'm very happy with results and the cost $220 for the parts and optionally $30 for 4 very bright led DRLs.
