Traded in the RS4 for an a4 2l tdi!

Hi all, i'm from Scotland, new to the forum and love Audi's!

Joint a few Audi forums but they seem to be a lot quieter than this one so thought id join!

I've had a mixture of cars in my time some amazing some not so haha

I've just traded in my pride and joy Red RS4 Saloon for an A4 2l tdi...WHAT! I hear you say...!!!! but there's method in my madness!! I bought a Land Rover Disco 2 TD5 for shooting and I promised myself the RS4 was still going to be the daily driver.......but the TD5 quickly turned into the daily driver and made the RS4 redundant, sitting in my drive doing nothing getting about 500-1k miles a year just wasn't doing it for me so I decided to let it go and hope someone will use it and get the enjoyment out of it instead of storing it like myself, and another plus, with the spare cash I'm thinking of going through my PPL (private pilots licence)

I've had my fair share of cars, started with a Volkswagen Polo, Renault Clio, Honda Civic Type R (I don't have photos of these as they ended up no longer drivable shall we say......)

Toyota Hilux, I loved this motor, it went anywhere and really easy to work on!

BMW M3 another amazing car, heavily modified by the previous owner and had an amazing note to it

and the Red B7 RS4 saloon I just traded in for the 2l tdi A4 S-Line. I don't half get depressed when I post up pics of the RS4 but I think i've made the right decision

Now the new car and the D2

    Thanks for reading

Every time I look at the photos it just kills me inside! The thing is I need the two cars as the D2 is very good at breaking down! haha I just couldn't justify a 4.2 V8 sitting about doing nothing while I was driving the D2 and im away 6-7 months a year with work. Very hard decision to make but probably a good one in the long run

Tough decision, but if you weren't driving the RS4 it was a waste. At least now you gave someone else the chance to enjoy it

My thoughts exactly, now someone else can enjoy the car as much as I did and they will, fantastic motors!! I just hope it gets used like what its supposed to. Its still sinking in but its been less than a week since I traded, it will all come good in the end haha

Cant argue with the 45mpg the a4 is giving instead of the 11mpg the RS4 pushed out! haha

LOL. Might be the best justification right there! It's a shame the B7 didn't get the TDI in the states

    Agreed.

Some put RS4 bits into their A4's but I'm sure the car is plenty nice as is. Isn't life too short to only experience one car?

Traded in the RS4 for an a4 2l tdi!

Question, on a scale from 1 to 10, high high are you?

    Correct Answer: Yes.

why would you sell the rs4?? that thing was gorgeous.

He said in his post, that it wasn't getting driven, amassing less then 1000 miles a year, so he's passing it on to someone else who will drive and enjoy it and not let it sit and wither. I say kudos, if you love something, set it free. I am sure that the next owner will know what a special car they have and will love it and drive it for all it is worth.

Ive always wanted a C63 just for the shear V8 noise! sounds amazing and has much more of a grumble than the RS4 but those "next cars" are a long way down the line.......maybe......haha

Thanks for the quotes, I've no pics of the interior yet as im offshore just now but inside is mint but very basic, not as much goodies as the RS4, no DIS, sat nav etc but very tidy inside, same as the exterior its also mint (minter than the RS) but it does have some age related scars though like stone chips etc ive got a touch up pen for those though

I traded because i worked out being the 2nd car it'll do about 500 miles this year, i just cant justify have a car like that sitting doing nothing, id rather have someone else have the enjoyment out of using it, i had to replace the front brakes two weeks ago because of it sitting about, was the first time i used it since the end of November

How would the Audi B7 TDI Quattro not be one of the ultimate cars that checked off all the boxes?

Especially with a manual trans.... AWESOME!!! even with some basic tuning you can bump the power in a diesel 30% with no "hard parts" other than an air filter typically.... and STILL get awesome mileage. B7 A4 TDI 6MT quattro... my unicorn.

RS4 is awesome but I'd have done the same trade in a heartbeat.
