    Jhm vs oem collar

Any new updates on higher mileage users? Both seem to have good reviews but mostly from new installs.

More interested with the trannies that get abused instead of being babied or high mileage ones.

I am also intrigued as to the longevity and how much can be thrown at these after a nice refresh.

JHM, 15k, about 25-30 launches between Sac Raceway and Redding Drag Strip, daily driven hard, no grinds or problems to this point.

Jhm. Launched about 15 times at sac raceway. Still smooth. Even smoother after I installed their stage 3 JHM b7rs4 clutch kit

    Jhm vs oem collar

Does the inner collar get damaged? Cause the oem 1/2/3 will cost almost the same as jhm full kit. Or just $100 more with full oem (including inner accdg to description but pics don't show inner)

And won't the orings need to be repleced? Doesn't seem to come with the Aam kit 1-2kit.

    I don't need the 4/5/6 (probably swap 4 and 6, since i almost never shift to 6th)

x 3 I have the oem collar that came out with the JHM rebuild kit(before they made their own). At least 50+ launches and too many no lift shifts to count lol. Still pretty smooth even with the notchy JHM SS

So all posts above are oem from Jhm or Jhm made? Just realized Jhm wasn't released too long ago and were selling oem before.

Right now i'm leaning towards oem from Scotty, its $150 more, but comes with inner collar that accdg to Jhm never goes wrong.

Which is better? Has anyone actually broken the cast Jhm syncro?

JHM just sourced the part from Audi.. Thats why their previous kits were so expensive. I cant speak on JHM replica one.. Cant go wrong with Scotty's parts..

    Thanks for the support guys!

Our kit was released roughly 3 years ago, but has been tested and abused in house long before that. We have yet to have anyone contact us about a rebuild kit failure due to manufacturer defects and we have sold over 1000 units now. At this price point, the quality, and the famous rebuild DVD, its a hard kit to pass up

Shhmaudi, Shoot me a PM with your notchy shifter issue. Lets get that sorted out!

Subscribed for long-term feedback on the aftermarket carbon synchros and collar.

The reproduction collar was released last May the aftermarket carbon syncrhos in Early 2013. My impressions of the shift sleeve is it's a good piece for the price. It's a bit softer material than the factory collar and I've noticed that the reverse gear is a smidge noisier because the reverse tooth profile doesn't exactly duplicate the OEM tooth profile. Time will tell if it's as durable as the genuine part.

    To clear up any confusion and to stop the spread of incorrect information regarding our collars, here is some factual information;

    1) We Rockwell tested multiple OEM Shift collars in comparison to multiple JHM shift collars which resulted in the JHM shift collars which meet or exceed OEM specifications. We specifically imported tooling from Germany to meet the high metal standards of the OEM components.

    2) We were testing the JHM shift collars out long before we released the JHM Synchros. This is standard practice for us which does not just include normal driving. This includes racing, launching, power shifting and absolute abuse of the transmission components as often as possible, usually on a daily basis.

    3) As far as reverse is concerned we matched the OEM profile as best as possible, noise variation can be caused by multiple reasons. We have not experienced any additional reverse engagement noise over stock.

Our JHM Performance Synchro Kit and JHM 1-2 Shift Collar is a product that we spent a lot of time and effort developing, so if there are any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us directly.

    Jake

The Genuine collars I sell are labeled with Germany and Belgium as country of origin.
