    They using that special sauce over there?

    The Europeans like to use engineered crank numbers. Obviously a chassis dyno reads the hp/tq at the wheels, so they just make up a loss factor to calculate crank/engine horsepower..

    520hp with a 25% drivetrain factor would be 390whp.

    The loss is calculated by the dyno during coast down. Most dyno's will give both the wheel power and the engine power over here.

    Right, but that's still not too accurate, for a variety of reasons.

    It makes no sense to convert the actual raw whp numbers into something that is basically an estimated guess.

    It really depends on the operator and the dyno. But I agree it's not the best to mess with the raw figures which already have a huge margin for error. Just the way it's done here.

    So my stage 2 car for example has a print out for 480 I'd assumed engine HP but it ties in with 480's I've seen US guys quote for stage 2 so is that whp??
