WTF!!

I purchased a set of used ST coilovers from a member on here was super excited to receive them and have them put on today. I saw the fedex truck pull up and im eager to shred this box apart to see the coilovers i just purchased. Pictures of the coilovers looked good and dint see any damage to them when purchasing. I get the box into the house and get it opened up start inspecting all the parts all looked good till i saw one of the struts where it looked like he grinned off the top of the strut where the bolt goes on. Im furious i asked the seller if there was any damage or anything wrong with them and of course he said no. Sent a couple PMS and no reply and hasn't even been on here since he sold the coilovers to me.

File a claim on paypal, if you paid for shipping that can also be refunded. Let's hope you didn't send the funds as a gift. I've been in your situation before.

Yeah im getting ready to file a claim right now, Of course i tried to contact the seller i wouldn't make a whole thread about this for no reason if i dint tried to resolve it. I didn't send funds through gift i knew better i always even use a credit card in case anything ever would happen like this. I contacted ST to see how much a replacement strut would be and 249. and some change. Thats all i want im not trying to get all my money back i just want the amount that it would cost for a new or even send a new one.

if its been more than a week or 2 since he/she hasnt replied (and it says theyve been active within that time) then i would start blasting their name on here...you could file a claim through pay pal since its not what the seller was advertising..will prob be a headache but still can be done if you dont wait too long..hope you ketp conversations between you 2

Yeah it sucks filed the claim hopefully he will reply and just handle it himself so paypal doesnt have to get involved and take a few weeks to get it resolved.

Apparently you're also protected by Panjo so maybe file a claim with them also so this guy can't do this to anyone else. Also he's not paypal verified which would have made me a little skeptical. Best of luck straightening this all out. Some people really suck

Yeah i went back to look at the pictures to see i i can see the damage but its hard to see it n wouldn't know unless you knew it was there. Like you said the nut covers it up pretty good.

So i received a message from the seller through paypal claim and this is what he told me

I would pay the difference for you (to be nice) from $206 and $249.99 but thats it. you saw the pics and had as much information to make an educated choice. You saved more than $200.00 on these, so if you want to upgrade something with them, you have the saved money from original price to do so, but these were working just fine on my car, zero issues.

Seriously you knew that the strut had damage which you tried to cover up with a bolt in your pictures. You will cover a difference from 206 and 249 so a whole 43$. Why in the hell would i buy a set of coils that were damaged and would have to replace a strut which cost 249. 249+500 thats more then a NEW Set!!

Thats what im doing now i escalated the claim to paypal and will send them all our conversation. as well as all picture proof of the damage. There is no way i would put these on my car and have my daughter in the car with me at any point can that top break off and i can lose control.

I feel like im being pretty reasonable all i want is a replacement strut he can purchase it(used or new) if he wants or refund me the money and i will buy it directly from ST

If you happened to use a credit card via PayPal, open a dispute with the cc company too. Paypal will take note and generally side strongly with the buyer.

Yeah and kept saying it was safe in our dispute through paypal and im trying to "upgrade" to a new strut that one is fine and he drove like that without issues.
