So driving to work this morning I pull onto a side street and going probably ~20 mph I see this huge mound in the road. Hard to describe but picture it the opposite of a pothole. Its essentially a raised mound of concrete thats part of the road. I'll try to get a picture of it later today or tomorrow. I saw it at the last second but someone was going the other direction so I could't swerve out of the way and just braced myself. I hit it pretty damn hard, my radar detector flew off the windshield. My car is pretty low so that didn't help much. I'm really surprised the whole bumper or front lip didnt come off based on how hard I hit it. I attached a picture of the damage.

Has this happened to anyone else? What is the best way to go about fixing this? I have an S-Line with the extra front lip if that makes a difference.

    TIA

I haven't been through this but a few years ago I cracked a rim on a nasty pothole on the highway. I got the repair estimate along with pics of the pothole and got reimbursed from the city for the damages. Might be worth a look to recoup the cost.

I appears to be a clean break. Clean it up and JB Weld the thing from the underside.

Do you think doing that will get filed as an accident and put on the carfax report?

Best bet is to do it yourself to ensure it doesn;t get reported.

    Part # 8K08071101RR

ECS tuning has them on their site.

Mine was replaced recently as part of a larger collision I had with a orange traffic cone. $3400 repair for mine which included new front bumper, radiator, intercooler, fog loight and fog light cover.

No, it was a claim against the city and they cut me a check for it. Nothing to do with insurance. Call the town hall where it happened and ask them for the details on filing a claim and how it works.

This. Once you adhere the two pieces you won't even notice the tiny crack.

Weld it or epoxy it. Easy fix

that's a separate part from the actual bumper, I think you could get a replacement and swap it.
