Gauging interest for C6.5 A6 3.0T exhaust by HG Motorsports... need someone in CA!

Hello everyone,

I've been staying in contact with the owner of HG Motorsports in California in relation to a video a friend of mine, Garrett, brought to my attention.

This was a one-off exhaust they made for a customer that they never set up a jig for so unfortunately they never carried it as a ready-to-sell exhaust. I have made them aware that many of us C6.5 A6 3.0T owners are looking for exhaust options as STaSIS has gone out of business quite a bit ago. They were excited by this and said they are willing to knock several out if there is serious interest in having the product made, but the first step would be to get a car to them so they can mock it up.

So the first step would be to get someone in California (San Diego area) to get their C6.5 A6 3.0T to them so they can mock it up. From there they'd be able to figure out a price point upon knowing how much material and labor will be required to create the exhaust. It would also be nice to see how many people would actually be interested as that will probably influence their decision to carry this production out.

So who is willing to drive to them, and who's interested?!

What size is the piping? Also, if this were to go through, would there be an interest in creating downpipes as well?

Not trying to make this more complicated than it needs to be, however here are my thoughts that could make this appealing to more customers. Just my thoughts, I have no idea of the costs that would need to go into developing these options and appreciate the interest HG Motorsports is showing for our cars.

- Is this something that could be utilized by 3.2/4.2 C6's with some modifications?

- Costs in the +/-$1000 range would open this up to more potential customers.

- Option to have full system ($1000 range), mid-pipes back ($600 range), rear muffler section only ($400-$500 and maybe an option for 3.2/4.2 C6's)(similar to the Remus set-up).

- No drone would be a consideration for many and for the Avants in particular.

- Rear exhaust tip options, angled cut, dual tips, oval...

- HFC option... One of my best mods on my B5 1.8T after chip and exhaust.

Yea, I'd have no problems with that, as long as it would benefit you guys. I have the 3.2 so not sure that it would. :\

How long is the car needed for, and what costs for the mock up car? I get out to so cal pretty regularly for work, and could arrange a trip where I drive instead of fly. I would be local for a week give or take.

Right?! I have scoured the forums far and wide along with exploring the reaches of Youtube, but there is nothing that sounds quite like this.

I eagerly await for them to mass produce this, but fear that it will be a sedan only option.

Hey do any of you guys know if the exhaust routing is the same for the 3.2 and the 3.0t? I know the 4.2 and the 3.2 are the same...

I'm wondering the same thing. Thanks for asking the question Tyler. Does anyone have any input on this?

Ballpark downtime for the exhaust and jig would be at least 2 weeks.

not sure if the 3.2 & 3.0t are the same but I believe the 3.2 & 4.2 are except the piping for the 4.2 I think is marginally bigger.
