    Hello Guys,

I have just recently washed my car and noticed I have a few cracks on the honeycomb grill. I am looking to replace it but dealer wants over 1K for new grill; is there any aftermarket ones that will work with the RS5? Thanks

I installed an OEM RS5 grill on my S5, and had this hit my grill 2 weeks later:

I was lucky that it missed the intercooler, and hit the crash bar. I was driving on the highway at ~90mph when the car in front of me kicked up the wrench. Scratched up my new grill a little bit, but at least it didn't break it. And I got a 12mm wrench in the process.

OEM Grill is about $700 from the online OEM discount audi parts retailers. I think mine was about $680 when I picked it up for my S5.

Just so this becomes common knowledge, the grille used to be around $750-800 from most retailers, but those days are going to be gone once supply from pre Jan 1st is sold. The price is through the roof and since people don't tend to trust when vendors post things like this:

    http://genuineaudiparts.com/parts/in...&siteid=214407

Genuine usually has some of the best pricing on items. Retail - $1363!

I have one of each grille in inventory that were brought in before Jan 1st when this pricing went up which is why the website lists just under $800. Audi has this priced higher than the pre-facelift RS5 grille out of Europe now too. I just spoke to a supplier that I used occasionally when in a pinch and they've complete shuttered their Audi parts operations because of these increases that keep happening every quarter. Audi has gone nuts with turning up popular parts pricing, it's happening all over the model lines.

I know it seems convenient for a company that sells Audi parts to say this, you know so I can jack up my prices, but it's Audi and as a business owner I hate what they are doing. I want to get parts to buyers at the most reasonable costs and it's getting harder and harder...

    Cheers,

Agreed. I've seen the Chinese knockoffs. They don't look right. IMO you spent 50-70k on a car, spend the few extra hundred bucks and get the proper part.

This is a concept lost on a lot of people. $100k or more car and save a few hundred dollars, hell even on safety equipment. A bit head scratching sometimes...
